I totally agree with the rep, I've seen that go bad on many many sites

also with the credits, no creds for real life money, that's an easy scam.

    trillions of crews?
I see about 10. And I see no major PROBLEMS with them. I see room to improve, things to fix, but nothing major.

Reputation truly does not matter. When does anyone actually look at your reputation and judge you upon it? Everyone is always freaking out about reputation, rep abuse, etc. But honestly, what does it matter!? If you think there is a problem with it, just ignore it.

Sure, the cost for credits, and the need to rely on credits has jumped... But look at the money conversion rate:
    6-12 Months Ago: 100credits/1dollar
    Now: 200credits/1dollar

    Average Cost of FR Signature:
    6-12 Months Ago: 300-500credits
    Now: 600-1000credits

    So what is the difference?

People complain about how much things cost now, but then again look how easy credits are to get...

I blame about 90% on shaggy, or the lack of a person that is FOR the members like Llama. The fact he is paying THOUSANDS of credits for posting on ANOTHER forum is absolutely OUTRAGOUS. This guy cares nothing for us or this forum, he is more concerned with the many other sites he is involved in. He throws credits into the system like they are nothing and he has brought this site down a ton. I still love this site, I do not see any considerably huge problems, but I do see things that could and have been way better. When Llamaman was here all he cared about was his members and paying the bills to keep this giant up. It seems Shaggy has no care in the world and is really just concerned about other things. I do not know him at all, but from what I have seen I am not happy. When Llama was admin it was him and his best friend. A very tight community with him and Dave. Dave was a public-affairs kind of a guy and Llama was a behind the scenes guy. I really feel like I am going on and on here... But times have been better and a lot of this seems to be the fact that Shaggy does not know enough about this community and that he is not here for us (what it seems like). Mindlessly throwning credits into the system is slowly eating at the credit rates and is turning the site into a hotspot for scams and money grubbers.

I do not know if that made any sence. All I know is that Llama/Dave have to come back, we truly miss them.

I'm quite confused. You wish to better GR, yet cannot even talk civil to the staff members of the website? I responded to a couple of your suggestions and you of course, attack me right back. Please point out where I was being sarcastic to you? And no, it was not a personal attack at you - I remembered it while responding and thought I'd throw it in, as it's still a memory that makes me laugh.

I over exaggerated on the crews bit, basically, and many others echo my sentiment, there are way too many unused crews that aren't doing anything special but taking up space.

I personally don't judge people on reputation, but I know many do. You know that if someone has 300+ reps they are liked and therefore you will probably get on with them before you've even talked to them.

Yes, credits are easy(ish) to get nowadays, by using USD to buy them. But as I've said before, no one should have let virtual currencies and RL currencies cross.

Now I personally do not know Shaggy very well, but I know he has other sites and I'm sure he promotes the use of credits. I agree he probably doesn't know much about this forum or graphics, but being an admin he should care for what the people want. And I knew Llama and Dave and they rocked.

@ Andrew : I understand it's natural for you to be confused (yay I'm getting good at these comments). I do want to talk, just not to you. You infuriate me, and all other staff members do not wish for me to continue this bitter flamewar with you. If you were really that civil you wouldn't make obnoxious and rude comments to anger people.

I attack you right back? Listen to yourself. I didn't attack you, I said I got bored of your petty comments.

You remembered my reputation as a memory? Nice life. Well, that just shows how much you judge people on their bogus reputation. You can remove all my rep if you like, but I'll always know that [most] of the rep I got was genuine.

You can respond if you like, but be aware you're just going to reignite another fued between us, which I'm sure many of the staff would not like to see. But as it brings out your true colours, maybe you should continue laughing at me, because I laugh as you for how arrogant you are, you should go to another forum maybe? Like you own one that you created, and used tutorials from GR to go on it? Or maybe www.dictatorship&arrogance.com

I dont know about that, to be honest out of all the people that post on GR, probably only 25-35% of them stay in the market place section.

For an example me, when I first signed up on these forums, I didnt even know there was a marketplace section lol, I found out there was a market place section in like November or ending october of 2006

Scams are something that will always happen, you cant avoid it. And it doesnt matter anyways because paypal will always refund the person buyng the creds since paypal doesnt have a rule for virtual money.

Ever since the paid tutorial section, became a sub section of offers and request, that section died a little, its not as active as it used to be. And me for an example yes November and December I used my creds to buy tuts, but I stoped because I dont care for sigs anymore. I was asking myself what does learning this do for me, nothing. SO i just stopped all together

alright GR items, I dont by items really because, I will never need to lock my topic, or pin my topic. As for membership items, yeah it would be nice to have, but the reason I havent bought it is because to many people have it, so i dont see a point in getting it, because too many people have it now

kinda agree, but twisting it so that everyone has to sell their creds for what the bank sell creds for

And no let creds be sold for cash, im still saving up for my Wacom >_____> lol

I agree with some of these statements I have seen some member with 20,000-60,000 and they havent been online in months or years those accounts should be shutdown or those people should be fined. Or to help members out u should enable some more things in the store.

Just a few things I would like to see in the store again.

Bank- enabled and credit cards set up.
Random Money to help memebers who have 50-60 credits.
    Randome Item
Premium and Donator memberships enabled again

Alot of people dont have the kind of money to spend for a membership so they try and post to get credits to buy one and theres nothing there to buy in the shop, same goes with the random money. We need to think about others who dont have the money, instead of just the people who have the money to spend on a membership...

I know that im gonna get flammed for this but o well. It needed to be said.

They were all abused by some Donators due to the discount that they get with being a donator so they were removed. If the items were enabled again some people would abuse it and its something only an admins can monitor. It was a huge mess to clean up, so it is very doubtful that that those items will ever be available in the GR store.

Is there a way of making it so certain usergroups cant buy certain items? If so, make it so that Donators/Prem cant buy Prem/Donator accounts.

I read all of this. You state good opinions for everything, but I may add something for crews. It seems to me, that no matter how good your art capabilities are, it seems that if you try to sell something for credits, people are only looking for the ones from people in "good crews" or to buy from people who are famous. Thats what annoys me.

Hes not saying to remove them, hes trying to say users should stop abusing the rep system and + or - repping for dumb reasons

Most of my opinions on the matters you posted were already echoed by the other staff members, but there are a few things I'd like to either clear up or elaborate on.

@Kawakill - The retired staff got their section because they deserve some sort of recognition for the time they put in to this site. Their opinions matter to us and we wanted a way to converse with them directly without the often useless input of the general members (not an insult to you, I think you get what I mean) cluttering it up. For some reason it was removed while we reorganized the forum earlier this year, I'd like to see it return as well.

Now I'll start focusing on the points you brought up Flamesy, in no particular order.

Blogs: The main issue with this is the money right now. Andrew offered up a license for it a while back but Shaggy never really said whether he was going to take it or not. It's still a possibility, but I honestly don't want to give any sort of promise here because my guess is as good as yours.

Editorial Team: We've had a few of those "GR newspapers" in the past, they didn't really pan out at all and wound up being a waste of time. I can think of at least 3 instances where an idea like this was executed, and each fizzled out to some degree within a month.

Proper Grammar: This is something I'd like to see done throughout the site, not just with staff. We do set some sort of an example with it, but I know it's a bit tough with a good number of members using English as a secondary language. I may borrow a guide to proper punctuation and spelling at some point from another forum I go to, if you'd like I can look into this quite easily.

Report Button: Andrew already stated the reason for this being disabled, but I'll just reiterate it quickly. The button would send out a message to all staff members, and the issue would usually be resolved within a few minutes with messages still being left unread for an old problem. This just cluttered inboxes and I can imagine it led to some degree of confusion in a few instances.

Crews: If they're a crew, they met the requirements set forth and paid the fee. It isn't fair for us to close them down because we feel like it, but I can see where you're coming from with this. I'm kind of on the fence with this as most don't offer any sort of benefit to the site, but if members want to form some sort of group and create friendships or something out of it, then let them. It doesn't hurt anyone or the way the site operates.

Tutorials: I really wish it wasn't such a big thing, but at this point we can't really make any drastic change to the system directly. We can suggest crews and members to give quality tutorials for free, but we can't really force them to do so.

Correct me if I'm wrong or entirely off base of course.

    Merged Post:

There would be nothing to strive for if you're here solely for the money. If you're here solely for the money, then you aren't exactly a contributing member of the site anyway. I understand what you mean and to some degree you're correct, but I don't think that removing those two mods would mean the end of GR. If anything, with time it would mean the site would build up with a base of people who are focused on developing their designing skills and being a part of an actual community again instead of a graphic design equivalent of amazon.com or ebay.

I was thinking the same things about the certain people, also u guys could set a certain amount a person can buy in one day one week which would help out with people buying alot og things. Maybe even apoint a Tech mod and give him admin access but only in limited areas such as the shop, and rep u could even apoint a few people to do it, it would help take all the pressure off the Global mods and the sectional mod, it could even help the site out some.
