What option do you prefer to use for lightning effects?
    Directional, omni or spotlight?

When I started using it for the first times, I always used omni. But since a few weeks I am using almost always spotlight :)

What do you guys prefer and use? B)

I would think omni is better. Spotlight makes the surroundings darker.

Soft round brushes and dodge/burn tools ftw.

I don't use the PS effect, I don't like it.

Don't use it unless you know how to utilize it, because it has the possibility of making your tag look bad. But if you really want to use it, pick omni. Soft brushes=too easy. xD

what alternatives are there? I mean soft brushing works, but if you can use lighting then it gives a much better and more varied outcome imo...

The burn and dodge tools are for depth, not lighting.. >_>

Don't really use it. I usually do soft brush + dodge and burn. But I use omni usually.

Sometimes I duplicate the render, smudge it with splatter brush and set in on color dodge, sometimes thats nice. But I use soft brush the most :shaggy: :shaggy:

Burn tool darkens and dodge tool brightens, it's for lighting lol!
