You would have all the big spinners leave....like me who have 8* the number of creds, even andrew must disagree with that one having 12k, and would only benifit people with lower creds.

It would also have a mass spam on the forum to boost post numbers before it changed

Yea... Make stuff start costing things... Like avatars and sigs... This makes the rate of credits rise greatly... I'm serious... 1000 credits now could be world like 10 bucks... Or something... I dunno... One of my friend sold 2.5k for 16 bucks...

Tampering with the credit system is risky, as it can easily cause a mass exodus from the site. I don't feel the need to change the way things are, but if you need to take credits out of circulation the only reasonable ideas I've seen in this thread are the charges for shops/SOTW/etc.
A percentage cut would anger those with the most credits, all of which are large contributors to the site.

Thanks for volunteering me logic :| My idea was to create a gr lottery so that you could buy a 'ticket' and it would cost you like 50 or something credits. Then every week or so there is a drawing and if your number matches the winning number then you get 50% of the total credits in the pot. The cost of buying the ticket goes to the pot. The other 50% of the credits could be removed. If you do get a lot of people playing and a large pot, massive amounts of credits can be removed at a time. I'm sure i could create something that do all the calculations and keep the records.

I agree with charging to open a shop or auction etc. For shops i think that people who already have one open should be grandfathered in and not have to pay the additional charge. You could make people pay x amount monthly to keep their shop open.

I disagree with taking away a certian percept of peoples credits. If you take away 50% of everyones credits, i would lose 5000, but someone who only has 10 loses 5. Its much easier to regain 5 credits by making 5 posts, but there isn't an easy way to get 5000 credits back. (I saw someone else had posted this lost it when i went to post :P)

you could charge to have a sig or avatar i guess. It is a little out there but it would definently eat up a lot of the credits fast.

Just don't take people credits directly away, that will start chaos and will be unfair to those with large sums of credits.

And the post count=cred idea is just a bad idea. People would spend their credits and then inherit like 900+ more as in my case...

here is a simple idea... make people claim their credits once every month. if they don't claim them they go away, this could probably be automated as well. keeps people active and it saves a lot of BS.

circulation will suddenly go from 1.8mil to .8mil
