I'd say charge for creating shops would do the trick.

I say remove 50% of credits, that way everything will be fine.
credits will regain their value. all the shops would half to equate for the change and all will be good.

ALot of people have spent actual money (Dollars/euro) on there credits, how do you think they'l feel when there investment is cut in half? Just charge for making things, but NEVER take away anything, unless as a form of punishment.

your seeing this wrong. no matter if i have 50 creds or 5000 creds when a % is taken out it wont matter.

25 creds will be worth approximately what 50 creds were worth, 2500 creds will be worth was 5000 creds WERE worth. The only thing that would be changing is the number they have. The amount they have after the % is taken out is still equal to the amount of worth, stores simply halve their prices, etc. and it all works out and gets rid of these excess credits.

HOWEVER, this would also mean that each post would be worth more (since 1 cred is approximately 2 creds currently), so as I said, perhaps disabling creds for posting (except creating topics/polls) would help. It would GREATLY reduce the amount of credits in circulation (which would cause more people to create more constructive topics, and less "stupid" replies), it would stop people from spamming threads somewhat (because they wouldnt be getting creds for it), I really see no problem with this. Ruducing all current credits to 50% would result in each credits amount going up (so to speak, if we keep the current 1 post = 1 credit, this will probably hurt us more than help), people stop saying repetitive things (like someone will say, check google.com and 8 people will repeat him/her), it would force people to make more constructive topics (possibly more spam topics too). On top of this you could put a fine for 1) not using the search button (keeps dumb topics made down), 2) fine for creating a general topic of no worth (aka a spam topic, made to get credits, nothing more, this will mean if someone posts a topic just to get credits, he ends up losing credits, which also helps cut down on spammers) and 3) those who come here simply to spam/raise credits would leave. They are already ruining the economy by putting a USD worth on the credits as is.

yea but what you are failing to see in what he is saying
    is that
someone who has 50 creds gets 50% taken away = 25 creds so there for = supposedly 50 creds total value
now take someone who has 10,000 creds take 50% of there credits = 5000 so they have lost what supposedly going by your theory 2500 value in credits
plainly obviously wouldnt be fair to people who have a large amount of credts
they loose out in the long run

i editted my origional post as well.

I dont see how your getting that tbh. 50% is half, if you divide something by 0.5 then its value doubles. I dont see how removing the credits will do more than remove credits from circulation.

Basically it just doubles the value of credits (if halved). $5 will get you 500 credits now, instead of 1000. $10 will get you 1000 instead of 2000.

By reducing a 10000 credit account down to 5000 credits, those 5000 credits are still worth the same USD amount they were at 10000 because this is a universal change, it is not just affecting a single person or group of people.

make all rule breakers fines, including small offences, like double posting or even bumping a topic early.

that right there would SERIOUSLY piss off those people who have 20-30K credits, especially if they paid for them, it would not be good for our community at all. It would cause an infalmmation in spamming, it would cause numerous people to outrage and PM the admins/mods and alot of people to leave.

my only reply to this is if ur gonna take the credits away, what about those whom have very low credits? wouldnt really be fair that way because they're TRYING to get up to the other but if u take em away then they will have to make those extra posts (good for board but still) and work hard with tuts etc

o and like someone ^^ said, removing half of credits would be a bitch because lets say someone has 20,000 credits, and then has 10,000. half of 10 is different because then it would be 5 and thats no big deal to get 5 more credits, but erasing 10,000 credits, would be hard to get back to 20000

well the worth wont change is what were saying supra, just the actual visible amount would change.

where you have 74, youll be reduced to 37, which will be worth 74, it just wont say "74".

by taking a percentage from everyone, the worst wont go down for the poor people or the rich people. unless you have 1 credit or less, at which point you can post once lol

the thing is, you cant simply take a % out without doing other things to even it out, because those with 5000 credits are going down in value. Ofc he/she can post once and get 5001 credits, which is worth 10002, the other person can post once and get 1 credit, which is worth 2 credits, so it does hurt the rich people IF there are not other rules enforced to stop increase of credit rates.

i no but would those in the shop still be the same?
then it will be hard to get back up into that range, what im saying is that if someone is selling something for:
    200 credits
and someone has like 300 and wants to buy it but then his credits gets cut in half to 150, which is worth 300 but visibly 150 and wont be able to have the credits to buy the item
in this case ur saying that if someone has 100 credits, 100 posts, hasent sold nor bought anything and gets cut in half, its like cutting there posts in half, which would mean that every 2 posts u would get 1 credit

chances are shops would be forced to reduce their prices or not get any business if this occured, because if you lower the entire economys worth, then you cant continue to charge the origional amount.

its like gas prices. say the US just dropped by 50% of their currency. do you think gas prices could stay at the $2.75 (where i am thats what its at)? No, money has more worth on it, therefore 2.75 on the new amount would be like $5.50 instead of $2.75, it would be 100% unfair for them to maintain current prices. I mean they could do it, but in exchange for keeping current prices, they lose profit and any source of "income" (credits, or USD in this example).

yah well were spamming this thread while we are both enforcing that this shouldnt happen
doing this would confuse everything since everything would be doubled or w.e

Just ask 50 creds to put Up a auction and 100 for a shop or so.

And ask 10 creds to enter a contest and take all these creds and make them the prize "money".So no new creds will come in circulation.

But how many members are really active ?

You have more then 50000 members but if there are 2500 members active then there arn't so many creds around.

Don't erase half of some1s creds. Most of them earnd them all , 1 by 1.

Just don't think its fair .

    Dr!ver.
