Credits are the backbone of the GameRenders community. They continue to make people post, they create frustration for members, and add to the fun of GameRenders overall.

Besides getting rid of the credit system, what suggestions do you have on how we can take credits out of the system?

I have several ideas, which are...
    • Charge for creating auctions
    • Charge for creating shops
    • Charge for entering Sig of the week
    • More store items(which is a problem in itself)
    • Turn off credits for several weeks at a time
    • Another idea i've been thinking of to massively reduce the price of credits is:

We would take a number, say 10, and reduce all credits by that number. So instead of having 100 credits, you would have ten. This may seem like your losing credits, but this change would be done on all members - and anyone who tried selling things at the current prices, would get no buyers.
Eitherway, something has to be done. Currently on a max, we take out of circulation about 1,000 credits a day. We bring in over 5,000....and at this rate, credits will soon just be worthless.

Remember this number: Currently over 1,800,000 credits in circulation.

Agreed, something needs to be done ASAP about the obsession with credits. I don't really care what it is, but you need to do something.

It's ruining the community all together.

Yes, something needs to be done about this, and I like the 10% idea. Take everyone's credit count... and chop 90% away.

I think we should disable posting for credits in all forums for a few weeks. Or maybe just permanently disable posting for credits in select forums.

yea i noticed that all the sudden my credits weren't with crap. we need more charges. Posting for credits shouldn't really be turned off, but charges for things like shops sounds good. The problem is that so many people are getting credits and they never get turned back to Gr and instead float around in members.

Do what governments do, tax people :P

charging for auctions/shops would be an awesome way.... the ammount of auctions are overwhelming. And charging a 50 credit fee for each would cut down a lot.

I agree with you on shops, but definately not auctions. That would kill the Auctions forum completely. Maybe 50 for shops but only like 5 for auctions.

remove credits in Marketplace, Render section, Gifts, they are the most spammed sections, and battle arena as well

Not the battle arena. People barely vote as it is. If you get rid of creds there, noone will vote.

I have already submitted the idea for auctions to be charged. Though my original price for it was 100 credits, not 50.

Its simple - if you don't feel you can net a decent amount on top of the 100 credits auction fee, don't auction it. Sell it in Offers & Requests, and Shops & Services. Considering the average auction goes for at least 300 credits, eitherway your gaining credits..and your helping to raise the overall value of credits.

    Think long term here,

    Andrew
