I know how to play 3 musical instruments, I've also studied music for 3 years

So go ahead, try and lecture me on music, please?

Let me put it this way,
You've learnt to play a musical instrument I assume by what you're saying?

Next step, Have you ever written a song for an instrument?
Have you ever written a score for other people to play?
Have you ever done vocals for a song?

Next step, have you ever written 10 or more songs for an album?
Have you ever kept those 10 songs different and original from one another?

So some songs are easy to play, and what? you try ------ing writing 10 or more songs that others can listen to and enjoy, and come back and tell me they aren't ------ing talented.

Try and do Tom Morello's guitar solos, then you'll see what's complicated. ;) Not to mention Kim Thayil of Soundgarden. ^_^

I realize that. What I've posted just happens to be the labels given to them. I couldn't care less about them, really.

Aedus....ive played piano when i was 5-10, guitar from 11-now, drums from 12-now, bass from 13-now

i know music, and ok so screaming takes a lot out of you, omg thats so deep...that doesnt mean its hard

and ive written 1 score for a final project at school, iv written 4 full length songs with lyrics, about 10 nonvocal songs...my voice just isnt good so i dont sing much..but most hardcore bands' voices arent good....mabye i should learn how to scream

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/j/jimi...lo_ver2_tab.htm (Bold as love jimi hendrix) its not even super hard but he composed it and damn is it good

and its not even the tabbed part, if you would ever see jimi (not anymore) or any 40's Jazz player you would kill yourself..They improvise entire songs and make the most intricate fast solo ---- ever.....that takes so much practice...like years and years and years...sure screaming is a once a week thing, and your sacrificing stuff, which im sure is more for sympathy then the bands sake, but its not super hard to do....its hard to deal with pain, but not to actually do

You don't just hear them scream, they can sing really well to, you just hardly hear it, take "All that remains"

Go listen to "This calling" by All that remains, he screams

He gets to the singing part and he can sing really well to, same with the guy from ill nino, even silent civilain

Because they scream doesn't mean they cant sing, they just choose not to. And screaming sometimes makes the song, over-excessive screaming puts me off though.

ok ok..its not a great voice, but its not bad...but he screams, then does screamsinging/ sings(in a completley different voice/i tohught it was another member of the band)

so yeah its actually kinda creepy...its like YAHHHHHH.....completley different good voice.....YAHHHHH

i just think screaming and when he does a low throaty monotoneish is just stupid..like why?

EDIT: when it gets low creeepy thoraty..it seems there are effects on his voice

    How to become a Rapper

    1. Dress yourself like a gangster wannabe, because you're obviously arent.
    2. Go to wallmart and buy some ho's and some people who are stupid enough to dance and acting like a slut in your music video, also get loan some bling bling and a limousine.
    3. Go to www.google.com and find a stupid beat where you cna say some words on in a certain rithm
    4. Create your lycris, remember that it ALWAYS needs to contain something among these objects:
sex, drugs, money, ghetto, other stuff that sounds gangsta
    5. That settles it, hopefully you'll find enough morons that find your music ok. Also, remember to be commercial, don't do concerts.

That is how to become a rapper, among most rappers it's the truth

Why don't you post something useful instead of just saying that.

Anyway, yea I think the true artists are the ones who aren't out to get everyone's money and the one's who support fans/do shows/etc.

You feel like that because you don't like that kind of music.

I got used to it, so I now like harder stuff like Drop Dead, Gorgeous, or Job for a Cowboy.

Screaming in music is BS. Belting is one thing, but screaming? Pointless, especially the amount of crappy lyrics that's normally screamed out.

Pointless indeed. It went from arguing about music genres to debating over whether or not some guy in a band screams too much.
