So I was having an argument last night with a member of the gfx community about music. I listen to almost all music, except for hardcore/emo/and music of that nature. He is the opposite. I barely consider that ---- music, with all the screaming and low skill level music. But whatever, I just wanna see people fight about it in here.

    Emo/Screamo/Post Hardcore/Punk Rock

    vs.

    Alternative/Rock/Classic Rock/Soft Rock

    vs.

    Hip-Hop/R&B/Rap

Feel free to choose and combine sides to make an argument...but I wanna hear why people think certain genres are worth listening to, because personally, I see no entertainment in the top section....it almost gives me nightmares with all that screaming and ----

And yeah, I know music taste is an opinion but still

You obviously don't know a thing about "screaming".
And whats so good about rap then?
They're always rapping about the ghetto and their "brothers" while they're surrounded by whores, money and drinks..
    Selfish ------s

Edit : you need to be a lot more skilled to perform live as a band than a rapper.

Okay fool. I tell you what

You scream lyrics for 10 minutes, and tell me how much it ------ing hurts your throat.

Now imagine doing it for a whole gig.

    Yeah? Yeah? Yeah?

Much harder than talking bull---- about guns and women against a back beat of 2/4 or 4/4

Alot of rappers are racist... Yet they chat BS lyrics about being treated differently and playing the victim...

Fact is that not all metal music screams... And the good metal bands scream at specific moments to give their music another dimension and create different emotions.
Personally i don't like band like Mesugghar (Not sure if i spelled it right) because they scream ALL the time and i cant understand what they're saying... However band like Killswitch Engage are just great because the lyrics speak about stuff that don't include Guns n B!tches.

Yes, hate the rap music when you got guys talking about suicide and hating the world. Rap sucks right now I agree, but you can't say all rap is bad. There are some people who make the genre worth listening to.
