100 Credits in the lead, A sprite is a smaller render, usually originating from an old game.

before you talk about something which you do not know anything about get some refs, I can tell you now that a sprite is not:

    a render of any kind.

A sprite is actually a .bmp , or .gif image that game artists use to represent in the coding. here's some stuff to read up on:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprite_%28computer_graphics%29

and the definition of a sprite:

"<graphics, file format> A small bitmap image, often used in
animated games but also sometimes used as a synonym for
    icon."

a sprite in the 'graphics' community may be represented as a render but infact is not.

    now dont call sprites renders.
