No you cant upgrade them at all unfortunatly. Laptops are vey hard to upgrade and your only able to upgrade specific components (usually the cd drive, hard drive, memory and some other stuff).

The only one that I have ever heard of being upgradable is NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700's. I dont know what you can upgrade them to though.

Most graphics cards on a laptop are onboard. Which means it's built into the motherboard. So no you can't, unless it's a gaming laptop such as an alienware etc.

Llamma is right, there isn't to much on a laptop that's upgradable. The only thing I was able to upgrade myself was the ram, hard drive and cd burner. Everything else I would of had to take somewhere else for them to do it.

Go to your manufacturers website and look for information about your computer----that will usually tell you what you can and cannot do.

ho boy, you usually can upgrade a laptop's video card as long as it's got the space. The most limiting requirement in laptops are heat issues. think about it. The video card is generating a lot of heat and cooling in laptops isn't exactly the best. Usually you can upgrade the video card but it's costly and takes a good 3-4 week chunk of laptopless time.

the CPU is what produces the most heat fyi, thats why when you look at the fans on the CPU and the vid card its a big difference, and usually the vid card has a huge 'slot' in a sense where it can collect air flow from, along with the rest of the components in the case.

I honestly tore apart my 2 yr old HP laptop like 100x, and hell they even stuck a sticker saying 'warranty void if removed' after it had been broke... oh 100x or so.

true the CPU does produce the most heat. The problem is that there's a limit to how much heat the laptop will take before it shuts itself down to protect it's components. This limit depends on the CPU, the Video card and the cooling of your laptop.

Heres a couple of tips to improve cooling:

    1) get a cooling base, basically you put your laptop on it and there is 2-3 fans which run under it to cool it down.

    2) stack it up on books or DVD boxes, this seriously works, the more room under your laptop the more airflow to cool down the base where the cpu/heatsink lie.

    3) open it up and clean out the dust/dirt, will improve cooling a lot and will make less noise

    4) open it up, take off heatsink heat transfer and put Arctic Thermal 5 on it, much better heat transfer, much better cooling

    5) underclock the processor, will cool it down :)

    6) fans, open windows

Some tips there for ya :)

the only 2 laptops i heard of with upgrade graphics option is the dell XPS and alienwares. but they are too high. one other thing is the TFT display is not good for gaming. so i recommend using a desktop for games.but thats my opinon
