Well, i'm 14, i'm saving up for things, such as a laptop for the future, i would be thinking of buying one around junior or senior year, hopefully their price would have gone down....

But I was wondering, I would be designing with art software and ----, are Macs that much better than those of PC?

cuz the 3 companies im considering are:

-Alienware: i know its primarily a gaming thing, but they're so ----ing fast and awesome...

-dell: pretty reliable pc company as i have a computer of theirs now...

-mac: i have heard they're much better for graphics/movie editing and such like that...

please fill me on, im young and nieve (is that how you spell it?

Buy a Dell, or get it custom made. Don't get alienware - too expensive.

dell is pure crap, horribly overpriced and all their hardware components are proprietory. try fujitsu, they are really good.

my friend got one from them a while back(he got a good deal, his comp i about a year old now)

    specs:
    P4 mobility @3.2ghz
    1gig ddr400 so-dim
    80gig HD
    256mb mobility radeon gfx card
    DVD writer
    17inch screen

he got that for 1300$ which is pretty good for alaptop

Heres a suggestion for ya buddy, ignore this douche bag! Dells a great PC's! Mine is now 2 months old and I have no problems with it what so ever!

Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.0 GHz
    145 GB HD
    1 GB Ram
    16x CD/DVD-RW Cd Burner

Amongst other things like my free 17 in. Flat Panel upgrade, I only paid 800 bucks for it!

So ignore him... thats some good advice right there

i personally have a dell laptop and would recomend them to anyone... but dont buy the dell pc's they suck. alienware over priced and you can get an even faster pc than theirs for less cost. not sure about the mac but dell do make the best laptops. so go for the dell laptop mate.

i think if you have the money for the aleinware you should just get a dell or costum online comp wich would be like 2/3 to half the price wich leaves you alot of room for new software and ram and other upgrades.
