The laptop is nice. GO for it. These new CPUs, known as Conroe is the one you have in the laptop, I believe.
The new Mobile (for laptops) are the Core 2 Duo T' series, releasing in late August. Conroe is the Core 2 Duo E' series.

Acers are low in price because its not really a well known Company. Remmember the rules of supply and demand.
Yes they are a known company. They are just a good company. Example: Look at Newegg. It is well-known and still with low prices.
I dont see Acers being sold In a walmart,bestbuy,Cucuit city,Comp usa(Yes i know overprices stores) Do you? thats why there not well knwos because People who shop regularly and dont know much on computer shopping dont know what acer is. Every one i ask if they know what it is they say whats an acer...
If thats what you count as 'well known', then I guess you're right. But when it comes to Internet communities, many people know the Acer name.
