Ok, I didn't really see much constructive criticism going on, so I will try to think of some. First of all, it's too small. If you are going to put a huge image thing there, then you need to up the size. The title text needs work. It doesn't look good. I like the creative idea, just not the application. Text needs to be aligned to the right. Links should look like buttons or something, they need to stand out more.
i don't like the background in ur 2nd version and the sorta shapes things i think if u took the drop shadow off it wud look better. I like the idea and i can see that u r trying to b unique
heh well lets add some more constructive critisim (blah spelling sucks) in this thread. I get what the designer is trying to do. I prefer the second design better than the first. Reasons: -More things for the eye to see (bg pattern) -More shades keep the eyes interested -Menu better placed and looks better Pros of the design: -sleek -simple -straight-forward -icon on the top is awesome Cons: -too crowded (your content text) -text becomes all "mono" to the eyes Suggestions: -"About me| Terms and Conditions | Credits" add to the siding like you did to the ©KurodaKun.net -Make content text slightly smaller and add a faint colour tint to the text (light, faded blue would work well) -Do something with the icon on the top of the page - either make your menu interact with it (mouseOver a part and it shows a menu item) or make it occasionally change colours (but light tints) ) Hows that?
