where are you buying your computer/laptop, where you are picking the OS, the only one I know of that lets me do that is dell, is there another site? Because I wanna get a laptop soon, but I wanna keep XP
Halo 2 is such an OLD game, its not even DirectX 10, Halo Custom Edition is already better than Halo 2, I migh consider Halo 2 IF it had DX10. There are much better games to spend money on if you have Vista, such as Crysis, Stalker and UT2007
Vista is very much worth it. I find it to run faster than xp on my machine, I love its features, its looks and all the programs I use run well on it. I have not had any issues, including driver issues since BETA2. Those who say it is bad, have most probably not used the OS much if not at all. As for Halo 2 for Vista, a company, I forget the name, is releasing a patch in the coming weeks to allow Halo 2 to play on XP.
last time I checked halo 2 runs just fine on a mobile Celeron 933, 64mb RAM, a GeForce 3 and a modified version of windows 2000/NT and has done so for around 2 years. let me iterate my philosophy, for the average user(with sufficient RAM) Vista is certainely an improvement. For anyone planning on gaming with an nVidia card, I'd either dual boot or otherwise hold off. The latter case applies to me. FYI I also use a program similar to superfetch, it basically involves me starting every program I have with the system. I have RAM pouring out of my arse so ehh...
Halo 2 has Dx10 support if your card has Dx10, But for people running on dx9 cards will only be able to run the game on minimum, They have slighty improved the graphics but not by much
and where do you get this? I highly doubt microsoft would want Halo 2 to look better than Halo 3.... also DX10 is mroe about performance improvements, not extra eyecandy. Halo as I've seen it has been one of the lowest quality FPSes I've seen relatively poor physics, the game models also suck. low polygon count and bump mapping to the extreme to make up for it - i seem to recall someone saying they should bumpmap halo because it could stand to gain from it - they didn't realize it just looked poor due to a lack of model complexity. What sold halo was the low learning curve and the mass marketting, it was the first "OK" FPS to make it to a console which had an acceptable multiplayer.
Don't know about you guys, but I have Windows Vista Premium Have had it for about two months or so now, and no problems whatsoever! Also, the only thing that bugs me is the stupid warning message that comes up whenever you install and do other stuff, like move folders and other things Other than that I am liking Vista, got 2GB Ram and a very descent Video Card (ATI Radeon X-1400 ) and it works fine for me All the applications run easily especially PS CS3 Extended version But yeah No problems for me as for now! May get Vista Ultimate later this Christmas when some of the minor bugs are resolved, solved -Zainu
Windows = Virus Windows xp = Bigger Virus Windows Vista = Biggest Virus Microsoft = Appocalypse Mac and Linux FTW!
please note that I am writing this from inside Ubuntu linux... Windows is far from a virus windows XP is a lot more secure than earlier versions Vista is more secure than XP Agreed. MAc OSX is less secure than windows. Linux has poor 3rd party support, be prepared to use VMware A LOT.
Yeah i know, i was just kidding. Altough windows has some of properties which a virus. (pain in the ass, hangs your pc from time to time etc.) And i agree with the fact that linux has poor 3rdparty support, i would love to use linux with anything i do, but unfortunately software producers simply dont make linux versions, because they cant get (enough) proifit from it.
that's strange if you had NO problems whatsoever. I came across many problem/bugs but it just came out... it's not like windows xp wasn't the same way when it first came out though.
