I have no clue what is going through the heads of some of the people around here. I find it a bit rediculous that words like p.r.o. are edited, but the word nigga isn't? Noone should have to come across these crap threads where that word is used a million times. If everyone wants to be so politically correct these days, you should put an end to all these words....

The reason --- is edited is completely separate from anything else. We haven't run into a real problem with leaving nigga (isn't that the "less controversial" form anyway? not saying it makes it right) unedited as nobody has gone around insulting people by using it or anything along those lines. It's not a matter of being politically correct, it's a matter of whether or not people are giving us a problem with it. As for the politically correct debate, when did that come into play here? Unless you're eluding to the big issue with Don Imus, I'm not seeing why it's being brought up out of nowhere.

Axiom, you know that I have the upmost respect for you. The problem I have with it, is that I'm seeing it more and more around here. It seems like people fail to realize that there are younger children on here, and I seriously doubt that their parents would want them around such things. To me, it doesn't matter if it's being used in a derogatory way or not. I still find it offensive. Actually, I find it highly offensive. Maybe I see things differently because I am one of the few members around here that do have children of my own.

**EDIT** Or it might be that it's 4AM here, work just called me, and I haven't taken my zoloft today...lol

That's quite possible and just before this, I hadn't seen the thread that had brought this up and after reading it I agree with you. This may be because I've had a lot of things going on off of the site and haven't been around too much lately, but I haven't been seeing any increase in the use of the word or anything along those lines. You'll always have a handful of people who think they're tougher by using harsher language online, but there isn't any way for us to stop all of it obviously. I'll be requesting to have that filtered since it doesn't serve any purpose here and shouldn't be thrown around with younger kids.

The funny part is that kids learn cuss words from their parents and others from school. But I am a bit offended by the use of it here.

I think that its cool that you banned words like p.r.o and i.n.t.e.r and such, but I also think you should ban words like blocked, blocked, wet back, spick, chink, etc. I dont like these words, these are some of the worst words you can say, they are worse that the f word in my eyes.
