Condition Zero is newer than 1.6 but is essentially the same as 1.6 except for better models.

CZ DOESN'T HAVE BETTER "GRAPHICS" STOP SAYING THAT PEOPLE.

The only thing it has is better skins and more in depth levels. CS 1.6 is more popular.

Take my advice, don't buy it from a store, you'll only get ripped off.

Ok, so CS 1.6 is more popular online but Condition Zero has better graphics, smoother gameplay, and bots. They are good for evening out teams. CS:S is just... meh, I hate it. CS lost its fast fast fast pace there.

I'm going to give you a few options depending on your budget with your uncle. First of all you need to download steam here. http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=getsteamnow

    Now, the good choices:
    1. For $79.95 buy the VALVe Complete Pack http://storefront.steampowered.com/v2/inde...ckage&SubId=44&

This is the best deal valve has to offer, it comes with:
    - Counter-Strike
    - Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
    - Counter-Strike: Source
    - Day of Defeat
    - Day of Defeat: Source
    - Deathmatch Classic
    - Half-Life
    - Half-Life 2
    - Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
    - Half-Life 2: Lost Coast (Brand New Mod)
    - Half-Life: Blue Shift
    - Half-Life: Source
    - Opposing Force
    - Ricochet
    - Team Fortress Classic

If you bought this seperatly in a store, I'd cost about $170.00. I wish I knew about this pack when I bought a bunch of other stuff.

    2. For 19.95 you can buy the Counter-Strike 1 Anthology
    http://storefront.steampowered.com/v2/inde...ckage&SubId=41&

    It includes:
    - Counter-Strike
    - Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
    - Day of Defeat
    - Deathmatch Classic
    - Ricochet

I would still personally go with the 1st choice, all those games are ace. Half-Life 2 WILL NOT DISPLEASE YOU, trust me, tis the shiz. Also, all of those games are playable online.

They are both different games, both built on the Half Life engine. CZ was released after counter-strike and it introduced Bots to the game. It also introduced new single-player missions. Condition Zero also has semi better graphics/team models. The Sounds in CZ are also different. Everyone has a preference. I prefer CZ because the graphics are better. Its not at all like Source though.
