Irc Chat Room To Points!

I was wondering. I entered the chat about a few days ago, chated about 21 hours and thought, why not make it Chat - Points like the forums.

the idea is that certain REGISTEREd members with a bot give there information like

GR username:
email:

then an admin has to approve the account. once the account is approved for irc chat to points. They get monitored by the bot and make sure spam doesnt exist

The for every X words they get X points sorta like:

for every 1000 words you get 10 credits!

Its jus a suggestion. Please feel free to add or remove ideas

 

That generates ALOT of extra work unfortunately and would require alot of time and effort to keep up with the chatting. Plus it makes it too easy to flood the market with credits because the regular chatters chat every day, for at least 3+ hours a day.

 

its a system I have seen work in another enviroment, in giving 'points' for each line of chat.
However using irc, you would have to set up a bot to count lines, either with mods updating creds or having to also make the bot send creds (a bit of a coding job imho).
Its a nice system, however would proberley mean alot more spamming in this sort of community.

An inflation of GR creds would happen if X words gets you X creds.

 

considering the amount of spam that happens, i would say no to this, but maybe say 10/5 or even 1 credit(s) for each time you visit the chat, which you can recieve only one time per day, this would give some incentive to join the chat, but as daz sad a system like this would take a bit of coding

 

Bad idea. The chat would be flooded with spammers. Which would be bad for the regulars.

 

agreed, many more spammers could come up for credits.

 

maybe 1 cred for every 500 words... it wouldn't cause that bad of infation, I mean I just got cred for this for like 20 words.

 

There would be about 400 people in the chatroomd then....

 

This would cause too much spam and inflation of the credit value, i mean going 1000 words = 10 creds i would be nearly 200 creds richer
