If they sold it at $300-350 and didn't have it bound to a specific carrier I'd own one right now. apple would never do that though for several reasons. they'de likely make MORE money selling at that pricepoint. The sheer volume fo sales would be incredible. the iPhone runs on OSX. OSX is apple's only gimmick for their computers. They claim macs are virus proof. They claim they're better etc. they forget to tell you that OSX is one of the most vulnerable OSes out there and that the first virus was made for a mac... If the iPhone sold in volume, vulnerabilities would be exploited. It would kill their desktop department. because of this, Apple has to keep the volume low and rely on fanboys and the "snob-effect" to generate income with this product.
The reason there with cingular, is cuz cingular, apple, and google are together...apple will never go to another carrior...but ya same here..im with cingular anyways...
apple is only bound to singular for one year. FYI apple went to Verizon first. According to my father who is an exec at Verizon apple was basically told to F' off since they wanted HUGE royalties etc.
