Me and someone else are starting a Gaming Site Anyways what forum software should we use? Vbulletin or IPB I heard good things about both, like VB is more secure and overall better, but i also heard IPB is just as good What software should i use for a site like this? I used IPB 2.0.4 but have they improved a lot on in the 2.1.x series? And how do the latest IPB and VB versions compare (whats better) Btw, dont say IPB just cause GR uses it
I have both software. I recommend vB than IPB because vB is more stable, although the installing is pain in the butt, but it's worth it. http://mysticgaming.net/forum is my vB and creativestudio.mysticgaming.net/forum is my IPB I have some nice hacks for vB than I created too.
who is they that is ruling? anyways, IPB is better. no doubts. I don't here many times were a hacker has broken into an IPB site (at least compared to phpbb2. ) The feel of it better imo. Dunno about the vB mods out there, but i know there are a lot for IPB.
IPB ftw. VB sucks big time, every smart person knows IPB is way better and has many many more options.
Vb is resource demanding, more expensive and the licensing options suck. Go for IPB the 2.1.x has improved quite a bit since 2.0 and is alot easier to manage.
vB has more hack/mod than IPB. IPB has lack service. vB has better service I remember that my username got hack and all my staff were banned. vB manage to get my account back within 5 minutes. Try the demo at vBulletin and you'll see how it runs.
agreed.. i just choose IPB cuz I'm used to it, and also, most sites wont go far enough for it to even matter if its for gaming/graphics..
