you either can use the easy banner changer in the skin menu in acp, or go to skin management and click your skin, click on edit html, and go to general html, then global header. where you find logo4, is the banner pic, use regular html, and you can do it that way sorry if this is confusing, im doing this from memory, as my site just went down a cuple minutes ago, lol.
Also, you can go via ftp and go to %board directory%/style_images/%skin folder%/ and find the banner file. Normally the file is named logo4.gif. However, if its not, you can found out by either... In firefox, right click on the banner image you will be replacing, and click view image. You can then see the image name in the address bar or the title bar at the top of firefox. In IE, right click image, click properties, and find image location/url. There will be the location and name. Then in FTP, replace the banner image you found above with whatever image you want the banner to be. You can edit the actual source code html that chooses which images/text make up the banner by going to IPB 2.0 ACP > Skin Manager > Manage Skin Sets > Click your skin > Edit Template HTML > then: In the top right corner of the page it should say "edit board header". Just hit go/ok next to it. The source for the header will come up. Edit as you like and hit save. IPB 2.1 ACP > Look and Feel > Click the silverish button to the right of the skin you wish to edit > Edit Template HTML > All Global HTML. Then in the box to the right that comes up, click gobal_board_header. The source for the board header will then appear. Edit as you like, and hit save.

I'm trying to edit my skin's CSS but I don't know what things correspond to what? wont work so if anybody knows the link, please post it. I would like to change the CSS on mine
When using IPB how do you make it so that certain forums require you to have x ammount of posts to access that forum?Like the premium renders forum....
I think you need a mod for that. I looked through the ACP and didnt see anything. Also, do you need a mod to create announcements because the only option I get is Pin this topic EDIT: found the link to the posts for a forum mod: http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/6127 thats for 2.1.x
Just create a new group which makes members get promoted to it by X number of posts , and create for that group a new permission mask and let them view the specefic forum or w/e you want in the forum's Permission masks.
Ok i need some help, I was trying to install the Rep Mod 3.0 for IPB 2.0, and at a step where i have go to: Skin Manager>All Global HTML>User Control Panel> blah blah, i cant access it (User Control Panel html). It gives me this error: "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forum/admin.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
