Intel Inadvertedly Admits P4s Are 20% Behind...

    I think it is fair to say tha the Core1 duos are on par with the athlon x2s clock per clock, maybe slightly behind but not enough to be significant and given that they are for laptops this is acceptable. Lets consider this as a fact.

    Intel has claimed that Merom will yield 20% more performance yet maintain the same battery-life as Core.
    Intel has claimed that Conroe will yield 40% more performance at 40% less power than the Pentium D.

    now... let's take that above said statements, and substitute words...

    this is what was said in the conference room at intel HQ:

    Merom will yield 20% more performance over AMD's ATHLON.
    AMD's ATHLON has a 20% performance lead over the Pentium Ds

    if I do the match, Merom is 40% more powerful performance wize than the Pentium D...

    whats 'the core' ?
    gahh..

    Oh, I agree. I know they do. All we have to do to proove that is to go to the Pi section and look at our GHz and our Times. ;)
