I dunno, maybe if you read like any topic about computers in the Computing section, you might find this answer...
You said 'that may change' twice in like 10 works Worst that would happen for Intel is that they become matched evenly, K8L probably won't be much better then Core 2 Duo, probably not even as good.... Then comes the race for the best quad-core.
Dude, how can you be so sure that Newegg is the cheapest? For starters, Newegg isn't the cheapest in everything, and 2, they don't even HAVE the damn processors.. so stop making assumptions.. Anyhoo, I highly reccomend Intel Core 2 duos.. for anything, gaming, whatever. If you are looking to save a few bucks tho, wait a few months so that the prices fall. The current price of most Conroe compatible motherboards is through the roof.. but apparently they should fall when more come out.
I more or less sold an athlon fx62 system for conroe what do you think? and also, 9/10 times newegg is cheapest also, prices won't fall any, they are the best on the market and will eb for a while. only thing which might happen is the launch of a 800mhz alendale part which will be the OCers dream... also, john had the right answer... also the person who posted this is an idiot and can't even read a the 2nd or 3rd down topic...("july 27th mean anything")
I skimmed through the article and saw the chip diagram for a quad core K8L chip...still at least AMD are working on it...but I've seen somewhere that a guy already has a quad core, Core 2 Extreme chip that isn't supposed to be released until late Q4 2006 or early Q1 2007.
this guy, a man whom I truely hate... would be known as coolaler atleast I beleive that might be wrong...
