Ok, so my mom uses Internet Explorer... -_- She told me that whenever she clicks a link from google, it takes her to a site that has nothing to do with what the link is. I have tested this, and yes, it is true. I typed in my local library and clicked their site's link.....it took me to a different place every time. It's usually something like a search site or something....any help?

Note: Firefox does NOT do this.

I forgot what it's called, but there spyware that does this. I think it's coolwebsearch. Trendmicro has a program that gets rid of it. If it isn't a virus/spyware, it's still a good thing to check.

Might I suggest using Firefox. Don't try to find a reason for this. Firefox FTW.

Then it's something else hijacking your Ie, either that,or it's just screwed up for some reason.

Well you can delete your IE. And then reinstall the newest version off the microsoft site. If that doesn't work, try calling their hotline.

Try Adaware and Spybot SnD in safe mode, or install latest version from micrsoft.com

Wow....thanks for the responses everyone. I will try the Spybot in safe mode now.

EDIT: HOORAY! I booted up into safe mode and ran spybot and adaware. No more problems. Thanks for the tips everyone.
