hamsters are cool i had 5 at one point all brothers and sisters was only ment to buy 2 but they looked so cute i bought the lot lol lived about 5 yrs :| cheapest way to look after them is buy yourself a paper shredder any paper you use and dont need anymore shred it up makes perfect bedding for them plus use sawdust for the main not wood chips these lil things are delicate they like fresh fruit to but dont give em to much cos it makes there pop smell bad
Buy a teddy bear hampster. They don't cost much, you just need to buy a nice cage and food/water. I own 2 teddy bear hampsters and I have had them since May. They don't require much matinence other than to be fed everyday and you need to clean their cages every week or so. The only bad thing is that they smell pretty bad sometimes. But they are awesome pets. Make sure they have things to chew on for their teeth.
my hammy was lazy so i never bought it anything it was ok with a cage a house and a wheel and food and water :/, ohh but they do like them rolling balls it helps when u gotta clean out the cage
maybe try talking with her, try to convince her it isnt that bad as it looks like, also i think a hamster is cool for the first week, but it obviously sleeps all the time, so thats stupid
