I just did a scan and I found this virus - worm.win32.vb.an but Kaspersky says "virus found but can not be disinfected". How do I delete it?
if nothing will work, use hijackthis link run it and see if you can find it. the list that shows up will include important files that ARENT viruses. if you dont know which ones to delete, copy and paste the list on the forums, someone will help you out.
It says it couldn't disinfect it... did you try just telling it to delete it? If that doesn't work, restart your computer into safe mode (tap F8 when your computer is restarting until a menu comes up, then choose safe mode) . Run the scan from safe mode and you should be able to delete it. Good luck!
I read that you can use Bitdefender to get rid of the virus..and if you are using a P2P program it attached itself to your share folder, and spread to other users...
dont dowload warez or porn tut tut Well basicly members have told you what to do. Reboot your pc and when it starts to come on make sure you tap F8(maybe tap it lots incase you miss it)>>>then select run 'safe mode'>>>then run your anti virus programe and try to delete it like that, if not i dont know i use avg (free) and its pretty good. Goodluck
get mcafee or some free one online they shud do it if not then get some help from a technical guy near u
What is this forum's obsession with re-formatting? You don't reformat your computer because of one measly virus that any good virus scanner could get rid of in safe mode...
It's amazing what a little Google search will turn up. Since you can't seem to do it on your own, I'll post the steps for removal below: 1. Download and run this. This is a tool specifically designed to remove Worm.Win32.VB.an. It has other aliases it goes by as well, such as W32/Alcan.worm!p2p, but this will take care of all of it. 2. After the scan is complete, and you have followed the programs instructions for removal, restart your computer in safe mode (steps are listed above) 3. Open your registry editor by going to your Start menu -> Run and typing in "regedit" without the quote. 4. Navigate to the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 5. If the following is located in the right pane, delete the value "winupdates" = "%ProgramFiles%\winupdates\winupdates.exe /auto", otherwise skip to the next step 6. Restart your computer 7. STOP USING KAZAA!
