I was just going through the Inspiration thread posted in the stickies in the sig section, while listening to Olafur Arnalds, and I had an epiphany. I just really don't give a **** anymore. This site was once the gathering place of people who shared a passion for sigmaking. What was achieved transcended the actual specifications of the 400x100~ pixels of canvas that was used, and the site thrived. That's all over. This site is just a husk of it's former self. It's full of noobs who don't realise they missed the boat, assholes who lie about their skills and qualifications. The few old members left don't really give a ****. All that's left is bickering over which of two bad tags is the worst, and I'm really sick of it. My life is stagnating right now, and I'm sick of it. Things go from bad to worse, in every aspect imaginable. I'm losing my apartment, my friends are all moving on with their lives, I'm unemployed, and the depression has slowly crept it's way back in. If this is what my life is becoming, I'm not letting this place bring me down as well. I just truly wish all these trash talking newbies really had seen what was accomplished here, not just with sigs, but with the community. I'm not saying I'm leaving, I'm not saying I won't check back every now and again to see what's happening. I'm just saying I no longer care.
Needs an expansion to gaming and gadgetry, and needs to move from just renders in the title, but then it's a new site.
we are still considering a wider audience, but we are stuck now because the admins are busy. but it shouldnt take too long anymore.
yeah, and plus, now that summer is almost over all those kids actually spending time outside will be able to get back in to designing
We also need to expand into shit like OS customization. It's still somewhat graphics-related and is useful to a lot of people. EDIT: Also we should probably get on Facebook (if we aren't already). It's "hip" I guess, and would allow friends to see what it's all about, and the likes.
our chief admin has scared away much of the population by his own admission. Work needs to be done regardless. First and foremost is RECRUITING. make a referral program damnit.
When I first joined this site it was the biggest forum I had ever seen. More people online then I had seen on any other forums.
