For my website design assignment in school I get marks for using 'special features' on my website. One of the things that counts as a special feature is a cursor trail. Thing is, I can't find one that works in IE7. I searched google and tried a lot of the results, but they don't work. Can someone find me the code for it?
the cursor trial is used with javascript. it's not a regular html code. I had it before but you can search for it.
Correct. Since HTML is a mark-up language it cannot be used to make dynamic objects like mouse trails. You need some sort of a web scripting language like javascript to do that.
Since you can't be bothered to use Google... Step 1: Save the following image, and upload it into your webpage directory (by right clicking image, and selecting "Save as"): Step 2: Add the below to the BODY section of your page, immediately following the <body> tag itself: Code: <div id="dot0" style="position: absolute; visibility: hidden; height: 11; width: 11;"> </div> <div id="dot1" style="position: absolute; height: 11; width: 11;"> </div> <div id="dot2" style="position: absolute; height: 11; width: 11;"> </div> <div id="dot3" style="position: absolute; height: 11; width: 11;"> </div> <div id="dot4" style="position: absolute; height: 11; width: 11;"> </div> <div id="dot5" style="position: absolute; height: 11; width: 11;"> </div> <div id="dot6" style="position: absolute; height: 11; width: 11;"> </div> <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- hide code /* Elastic Trail script (By Philip Winston @ , URL: http://www.geocities.com/pwinston/) Script featured on Dynamicdrive.com For this and 100's more DHTML scripts, visit http://dynamicdrive.com */ var nDots = 7; ^^ Well thats on way ^^ Here is a much simpler one (this will change your cursor to an image, just do animated .gif image that looks like a trail for trail effects): Code: <style> <!-- BODY { cursor:url ("location here"); } --> </style>
