How To Use Irc

weeeeeeeeeeeee you all need to come to the GR chat more oftern so im gonna sit here and tell you all
how to get your butts on here

1) you can either click the join the GameRenders chat room at the top of every page
here:

for some reason this dosent always work for everyone either due to firewalls or routers blocking your
connection so heres how to get on to the gamerenders chat room through irc

1)First off you will need to download and install mirc which you can get here:
http://www.mirc.com/get.html

when you first start up irc you will see this screen

*note this will not show up if you have paid for mirc*
just click continue and after 30 days it will be shaded out jus let it sit for a second or 2 and your
be able to click continue like normal

2)Connect details
you will see a screen like this you need to fill out the following information to be able to connect
to the irc server like so

your need your name, email, and its always good to put in a alternative incase someone is using the
same name as yourself

other options dont need to be played with unless u know and are famiular with irc ^_^

click ok

*Note this window will always open when u open MIRC *
you can either hit connect and it should connect you to irc.quakenet.org and your see this
or something like this:
-‹14-57›- °<3 irc.quakenet.org <3° *** Looking up your hostname
-‹14-57›- °<3 irc.quakenet.org <3° *** Checking Ident
-‹14-57›- °<3 irc.quakenet.org <3° *** Found your hostname
-‹14-57›- °<3 irc.quakenet.org <3° *** No ident response
-‹14-57›- °<3 xs4all.nl.quakenet.org <3° Highest connection count: 24486 (24485 clients)
-‹14-57›- °<3 xs4all.nl.quakenet.org <3° on 1 ca 1(4) ft 20(20) tr

alternativly if you are having trouble connecting this way you can click on this window to the side
either left or right or somtimes can be on top depends on how your irc is configured


and in the bottom jus type
/server irc.quakenet.org
and hit enter and this will connect you the same way as above

once connected to quakenet just go back down to the status window and type in
/join #gamerenders

and there you have it enjoy talking and hanging out with everyone in chat

Auth'ing with Q - for those who dont want to goto the quakenet website

to create an account with your current nick:

/msg Q HELLO [email protected] [email protected] <-- email must be legit

It'll send you a generated password

now auth by

/MSG [email protected] AUTH Nick password

to change your password:

/msg Q newpass

1. <new pass> <new pass>
   
   
   you're done
   
   to set it to auto auth you when you join quakenet
   place
   
   /MSG [email protected] AUTH Nick password
   
   in your perform list
