Your fault for listening to him, you shouldn't have done that without testing or confirmation first. >_> <_< Enough of that, I use AVG Virus scanner. There's a free version that you can get, it's pretty good with most things. I use it at least three times a week and my machine is pretty clean. http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php EDIT: They terminated virus updates for their free version (AVG 6.0) so you'll have to buy/crack/or whatever to get it. >__>
Dude, you dont get it...why would someone post things like this? you think this is a joke? im fking serious dude and how the hell should i know if i confirmation wth that is, Now i dont need to know these virus program anymore since eveything was deleted.
This wont be the first time that you lose everything. Trust me. Best thing is to take it to a shop where they can get the info back. It is possible with the correct software. It may be a bit expensive but if the information she needs is valuable , you will have to amke the call. All is not lost. make some calls and see if there is someone around your area that can get the info back.
Dont know why people would suggest something they know would delete files with out explaining the full nature of the advice. Next time be sure to get more info on it before trying it out. It unfortunatley takes cases such as this to show you what can happen. But call around to computer shops and ask them if they can help.
bs he posted it up in this thread and this would have never happen if he didnt post this so - called advice.
I'm no computer wiz but... I have a feeling everything went to the recyclebin, so click on that, select everything that got delete, right click then click restore. Hope that helps.

1. Go to the health department. 2. Get a large syringe. 3. Stick it in her...... OH! You mean computer viruses.......
Well, this is the way I see it. Niosis gave you advice cuz you asked for it. You asked him if he was sure it worked, didn't wait for his response and went ahead and did it. If you had waited for his response I think he would've given you more info as to what that procedure does. So technically you're both at fault. Best thing to do what HydrogeN said. Take it to a place that can restore your data and pay whatever if the info is really important. Your call tho
Don't do this! deltree C:\ DON'T DO THAT!!! Just kidding, that'd delete your sister's entire C:// drive (if I remember correctly.) Anyways, Google is your friend...
I don't think he was trying to be an asshole, just gave out info without clarifying exactly what it did. Seriously, he doesn't have anything to gain by purposely screwing up GX's sister's computer so it's just a couple mistakes (in this case, big mistakes then)
Go to www.thenerdnetwork.net and view the Adware/Spyware Removal guide. The link is in the left column on the main page.
lol true but so is the guy who used it... Someone says to you, goto Cmd type in C:\ del lol i would tell them to :censored: off! Cmd + Del do not mix!
