Note: I made this guide myself. I have not ripped it from any site. So please don't rip it from here either. . Now that's clear, on with the guide.

    The Guide</span>

    1. The most important thing while studiyng for exams is your concentration limit. Can you study for 4 hours straight or do you need 5-10 minute breaks after every hour?

If you can go 4 hours without a break then make the most of those 4 hours. Don't let your mind wander!

    2. Are you easily distracted?

If you are then check which things distract you. If, for example, the TV bothers you and destroys your concentration then move somewhere there is peace and quiet.

If you are easily distracted by things such as going online or checking GR :D then please shut off your computer and pull out the power plug! I myself am a victim of this so I know by experience!

    3. Easy-Hard =NEVER!

Never ever study the easiest things first. Make sure that you tackle the hardest subject/chapter/anything first. Not only does it cut down hours of work at night but it also gives you ample time for revision.

    4. Writing = Maybe!

Get a notepad and a pen. Memorise all the things you need to. This can be done question by question OR all at once. It's up to you.
Once memorized, start writing down what you memorized so that you never forget it. This method always helps me!

    5. Twist!

Can't memorize the text written in the book? Write answers in your own words...but make sure you're writing the right thing. This is very useful when learning big questions like in History OR Biology.

    6. All-Nighters= NO!! :P

Never try to pull an all-nighter. Not only do you lack sleep, you are most likely to forget the things you memorized the last night. The max. time for me is 1-2 AM. After that I just shut my books. Read Step #3 again!

    7. Revising

Although you hate touching books before the exams, but it's extremely helpful if you start revising 2-2.5 weeks before the exams. That way you don't have to pull all-nighters

    8. Will add when I get it

Till then please post your comments/suggestions.

I have a good tip for you:

"You can drink a lot of coffee but when you get sleepy there's no way for coffee to save you"

Main point is to figure the teacher out if you still in school.
Most have a pattern or take exams from the years before.
Also try university homepages for exercises.... if you got a book then look up the chapter and do the exercises, that way you will have to use all formulas/knowledge from the topic/s you are dealing with.

    And unplug the damn telephone.

Learning instead of going to a party where you actually wanta go is a no-no. You will just be frustrated. Go to the party and learn the next day.

    Also start learning EARLY.
2 weeks prior at least start looking for exercises and then do them... 3 days before exam start repeating and if you still got problems you can ask friends/tutor.

Step #1: Pay attention in class

I have never once studied for a test and im in the 95-th percentile at my school (as of last year). Seriously, your teachers/professors tell you everything you need to know, that or the in-class projects do.

Uh, which grade are you in?
Usually there is so much stuff that you have to do 40% additional work/research at home. Until 11th grade what you said was true, I was best in my school with maximum of 10 mins meditating before test.
But in 12/13th grade it gets harder. Cuz you just get the papers and the books and you are expected to know it all by yourself. Same with university.

he's pretty damn accurate. In AP Euro I paid no attention in classs first semester(sleeping) but 2nd semester I was fully alert and I had a higher grade 1st semester just from doing the homework and shid more thoroughly the first semester(hence the need to sleep in the class)

im a freshman at CSU (Colorado State University).

I was expelled from my high school as a junior, then got my GED and already had been accepted to CSU. Currently im maintaining a 3.726 GPA as a freshman. The agreement we set upon due to my expulsion is any mishap (i backtalk a professor or something) or my studies fail (i drop below a 3.0 cumulative GPA for any 1 semester) then I will be kicked from the school.

My statement proves true for myself in college as well as it did in high school. There is only 1 class that was difficult for me and that was Pre-Calc, that required me to program formulas into my calculator for tests.
