Yes well i have decided to make a tutorial on how to make my grunge, the way i do it (comes out fairly nice).. Anyway hope you like it and cred's are always appreciated if you want to and like it enough!? 1. Start a new document, i went for 380x110 - good average size for a sig.. 2. Render some clouds - Filter > Render > Clouds - Keep rendering until you find something you like or an even amount of white and black.. 3. If you dont have any brushes downloaded, go download some or make your own. After you have downloaded some brushes make a new layer so you have your clouds layer and your new layer.. Select one of the brushes and either a colour of black and white and brush where there is that colour (so if you selected a black colour for ur brush, brush aroudn where there is some black for the clouds) - If you like you can fiddle around with the opacity of the brush.. 4. If you did it starting off with a black coloured brush this time make a new layer and use different brushes (or the same, just dotn make it too repetitive) and brush aroudn with white on the empty spaces of white you have.. (If your first black layer is getting to black just brush some black where its needed on the white layer or vice versa) 5. Now after finishing the brushing you should have around 10 layers, as im the guy doing the tut i know what im doign so i only used 7.. You can use as many as you need but to keep this tut small im using 7.. Anyway after finishing the brushing there is 2 things you can do.. You can merge all the layers into 1 and if it seems too dark/light you just press Ctrl L and press auto, or change the little arrows at the bottom aroudn till your sig/image looks fine.. If you like how it is at the moment you can just colour balance/hue and sat layer over the top of all the layer.. As for me im going to merge all the layers together as mine isnt white enough for my liking, too grey.. After i have done that i am going to colour balance the layer i have.. Im going to make mine an a bluey/reddy colour, you can make it whatever you want.. 6. Now after you have colour balanced, if you arent satisifed with the looks of your brushing with some colour, rebrush on some new layers over the top to make it look good. - Im going to leave mine as is. 7. Now im goign to add a pic, im going to add a pic from subzero the game.. That one.. Now take your stock picture and make a new document, get rid of all white around the stock you are using until all you can see is the stock, if it is too big for your sig then resize it Image > Image Size and change the settings to your liking.. 8. Now i think that mine looks ugly with him just there not blended at all so im goign to show you how to blend your picture into the background.. Firstly take your lasso tool and select around the outside of your image, not fully outside just around him so he can be deleted a bit.. Right click inside the slection you have made of him/her/picture and select the option Select Inverse.. You now should still have your stock picture selected plus the whole outside of the sig. Right click inside the selection of your picture again and select feather, change it to around 15 (i used 17).. After you have feathered, click delete on your keyboard.. If you have deleted too much of him go back and redo everything lasso feather etc but this time select a lil less of him.. For best blending quality you could change the opacity of the stock picture layer to help make it blend more, or you could desaturate the picture and colour balance the pocture till it suits the background.. For me im going to desaturate and colour balance him.. 9. there we have a basics of our sig, if you woudl like a border just make a new layer, select the whole of the layer (ctrl a), go edit stroke, 1 pixel and whatever colour you would like.. If you think a tech border would look good on this sig then by all means go to good-tutorials.com and search for advanced borders and do that tut.. (its too long to post here) - For me im going to use a 3 pixel black, blue black. 10. Last part is to add on some text, if you have no texts go to www.dafont.com and download some you like, im just gonna go with a simple text with outer glow and drop shadow as my blending options.. End Product: Some minor changes at the end on my behalf that i did to spruce my sig up a bit.. Hope you like it.. Thanks, criX
