Dont worry, when you first start on gfx you are bad, then you hit a huge learneing speed thing, then you hit the point where you're desperatly trying new things....you're at this point...and so am I...although I'm not as good as you.

Hey, you're not bad. People just have different tastes in signatures. If you like your sigs, that's all that matters. Unless you're planning building your career on it, then you need to worry about what other peolple likes. Again, nothing to get angry about. [IMG]

    your either:

    a. not trying new styles, always going with the trends

    b. not making large pieces (anyone can make an artwork on a small 400x150 cavas or less, but an LP of 800x800 or higher shows a real digital artists talent)

    c. your not applying your knowledge of digital art into your sigs, by either reading and learning from tut and resources but letting that knowledge go in one ear and out the other.

    d. not experiementing with the photoshop defaults.

Maybe you just haven't found your muse yet... There are many types of art in the digital and traditional realms, maybe you just haven't found what you were meant to do. Try new things: paint, draw, sculpt, vector, model, w/e Anything can be art.

This isn't somthing that can be definatively explained, just keep working. Try to sit down w/ a concept in mind; don't just grab a random stock and start slinging the effects. Study up on, and keep in mind some basic principles of art; even something as insignificant as a tag can benifit from 'em. If you have an idea you wanna convey chances are the result will turn out w/ more value, both artistic and personal, than just another tag. And don't worry about what other people are going to think when you're working, just be creative and have fun...

I have never really used tuts. The most I know is things I figured out myself. I have been doing GFX since september 2005.
When I was a beginner I really learned alot by looking at the real pro's work to get inspired. Sometimes I also tried to create stuff similar to what they made. That really helped me...
