So I'm walking in the mall I go to Gamestop im looking around at some pc games, I then go to Electronic Boutique and they were having a Guitar Hero 2 tournament or something,I look around in hollister(just looking because no way in hell im paying 75$ for a pair of jeans) and the people in the store looked at me kind of funny..

next im in Pacsun looking at some hoodies, the workers never came up to me asking was i looking for anything, and their wasnt anyone in there

I walked past Abercrombie,,,,,My pride as a staright-non prep prevented me from going in

then i see the hot topic....ive only been in the store once before to buy a pantera t-shirt. I remember the people looking strange and the store kinda creepy...oh and i was 12

With 1 and half years of age ive become less fearful goth/punk people so i decide to go in again//I walk in some guy with a mohawk and chains on his jeans says "hi how you doing?" i say "fine"...I noticed Hot-Topic and a section of T-shirts specifically designed for gaming type stuff...Their was a WoW shirt ,Captain America shirt ,Spiderman shirt,I eat noobs shirt, and like six others.
i feel slightly uncomfortable with all the people with weird hair styles and all black clothing.....I mean i listen to metal but im not usually around these type of people/ My friends have told me things about how their all cutters, satan worshippers, sacrifice each other, and hate people who arent like them/

Funny thing was none of this was true, I found myself talking to this one guy about what was the best song from metallica..Soo i buy a Hatebreed shirt and go to the counter, beyond the piercings and the black eyeshadow i saw a beautiful and warming smile from her....

On my way out of the mall i thought "Their just like us" They dress differently and are closer to the darker sides of things but does that even matter? They are human beings just like everyone else

Oddly enough the friendliest people i encountered in the mall werent skaters or preps they were goths lol.....

Id also like to point out just because you shop at Hot topic doesnt make you goth or punk their are plenty off wannabe's...Or people like me who only buy t-shirts from them...Some of the clothes in their you couldnt pay me to wear.

hahah so this is my shopping mall story....

P.S Goth girls with mini skirts that are tight and you can see their thongs are HOTT

Um...so are you asking us to be proud of you for something that you should have already known?

Hot Topic blows anyway, I refuse to buy anything in there even if I see something that interests me.

My point is to avoid stereotypes..

Their stereotypes cuz their mostly true. Thats why they've become stereotypes.

Most black people do listen to hip hop.
Most older chinese people drive slow.

    Oof?

    He's got a point.
People constantly whinge about sterotypes, but they are there for a reason. Most sterotypes are real, and, its hadly racist or offensive to use stereotypes.

Although we're all supposedly "Equal" and "The Same". We're not, we're all from different cultures of people and a culture is going to have traits that TEND to be associated with that culture.

Generally I wouldn't get involved in something like this, but Lennox, every post you create makes me want to go punch a rich suburban white kid like yourself and then run his face along the pavement via pulling him behind my truck.

Wanna know why most stereotypes are real? Because you 'guys' are children. You can't make up your own mind, so you follow what society has set aside as standards. In 20 years, how many goths do you think will still be goths? How many goths do you see in the 'real' world? The cause of all this prep, goth, skater, punk, etc. etc. is all from popular clothing brands and music cultures to market sales, its all a fad. They impose into your head that you HAVE to be popular, and in order to be popular you HAVE to spend $125 on a pair of pants and a shirt, and you HAVE to have blonde hair and blue eyes, etc. They also instill the thought process that you have to exaggerate every feeling you have to the max. Slight distastes turn to hate, and prejudice, and disgust for others by judging the cover (which, btw, I have seen you do FAR too many times on these forums alone).

You only see as far as you want to see (which is why you don't see how intellectual those goths, emos, nerds, etc. are), and what you want to see is that your better than others, and that the stereotypes that you have been brainwashed to notice and be overly ignorant to the rest of them. So what if people like wearing black pants that are baggy, have chains on them, and wear white face paint, paint their nails black, wear black lipstick, etc. Did it ever once occur to your pea-brained mind that they may WANT to do that, and they aren't following a stereotype? Do you judge ALL of your chav friends on 1 friend? You just pointed out that goths, emos, and those people normally shunned from popular groups generally talk about weird stuff, whats normal to you? Talking about getting laid, and doing anything you have to in order to get it to happen? I guess talking about SOME weird things, out of the vast majority of conversations is part of it. Most of the time I can carry on an intellectual talk with nearly everyone minus the chavs (who basically just think they are far too great for this world and don't care for anyone else, even their friends who they consistantly backstab and ---- talk), whether it be politics, about drugs, about violence in the world, music, etc. There is support in groups when those groups are shunned from those who believe they are superior.

I'm not even going to bother going further because I can't control where my mind races when I think of how much of a stereotypical prick you are to everyone on these forums and how you so damned closed minded.

I hate goths, the way they talk, the way they think, and they usually aren't the cleanest people around ><.

    Skater + Prep ftw.
