My basketball team, with seven members for the mass majority of the season (injuries and grades) has made it through our tournement and tomorrow is the big game. Against a very good team, as well. Our record this year has been 21-3. Their record is also, 21-3. We were both the one two seedsm going into the tournement, and it should be a good game. We are the number one seed, they obviously are the second. Wish me luck!
Eh, we lost by five. They were up by two with 45 seconds to go, so we had to foul and they made their free throws, damn the luck, eh?
I don't see why you would foul while you're up with that much time on the clock... unless of course your coach didn't trust your D enough to let you try and hold them to settling for bad shots. Tough luck.
Well, this is highschool ball, there is no shot clock. Just a five second rule. So, they could just hold the ball.
Yeah, but still. If you can play tight enough D and not let them get a good look at a 3, you at least have a chance to get the ball back off of a rebound or OT. Not to mention if you put enough pressure on them, they could make a mistake and turn it over since it's still high school. Just doesn't seem like the right call to me, but I'm not the one coaching.
what rules are you playin under? anyways sucks you guys lost. my team is pretty ----ty but where just the team that everyone who didnt make seniors goes to.
Well, we are a private school, and we play other private schools. We don't have a shot clock, I don't know why.
We don't have a shot clock either for my district. They made their foul shots? Usually you want to try to foul them when they aren't shooting. Was it in bonus? US high schools don't use a shot clock, my league doesn't and I've seen a few high school games on ESPN and they didn't have one either. On top of that the announcers said something along the lines of "there is no shot clock in high school."
I guess that makes sense. I thought maybe it was just certain districts, but that would mess everyone up during state championships and stuff
