If you're going to pay that much for a case, I'd suggest the Thermaltake Armour. It is a very sturdy case, and pretty neat looking (I have one). I don't mind the weight too much, but it still heavy.

Why are you getting two 7950's? I'd suggest 1 8800GTS. I honestly do not know it 2x 7950's outperforms 1x 8800GTS, but with the 8800, you'll be able to play DX-10 games when they come out. Also, in the future, if 1x 8800GTS isn't good enough, you can simply SLi with a second one.

Or, if you don't care, 8800GTS should be good for a good while. You can save on the mobo and buy one without SLi, like P5B. Otherwise, looks okay.

Get 1 8800 gts instead of the 2 7950's, then u can save about 50 more bucks with the case, and you can use the money to get a better mouse and keyboard, also a bigger screen. Go with acer 19 inch widescreen, its like 40 bucks more, looks much better :)

    no, it's 10$ more

and he still needs a PSU. Even if he used the POS included with that case, it would hardly be reliable for powering a single 7950 yet alone 2, and the same goes for a 8800GTS.

Remember, the PSU is feeding electricity to all your parts, if you buy ----, your otehr parts will soon become ----.

well i kinda forgot something very important, might have to downgrade some stuff.....kinda need an OS and yes im aware that the PSU sucks but thats only for a small bit(maybe 2 weeks) and the video cards are subject to change depending on the price drop fo the 8800's, i got a few months to make up the 1grand lol(parants supplying the other)

you will onyl need 1 8800GFTS

it outperforms TWO 7950GXs in quad SLI in a few scenarios

in short, the 8800 can be more than twice as pwoerful as two 7950s in some scenario.

for the record SLi is a gimmick.

you cna spend an extra 50$ on yoru motehrboard, antoher 50$ on the PSU, and then buy two 100$ cards insteed of a single $150card

and get about the same performance for only 3 times the cost.

Also, you can save by buying a E6400. The difference in the 6600 and the 6400 seems great, but when compared side by side with the average user. You cant even tell a difference.

As Xelink said, SLI is a gimmick. SLI hardly ever outperforms a regular video card anymore, it was only in older model pcs that it made a difference.

thats the case Im getting, cheap and nice.

I'd give that case a 10/10 if the front of the case was just flat instead of protruding out :shaggy:

Also, I forgot to say, that when teh 6400, and the 6600 are overclocked to the same speed, the 6600 on has a 2% gain on the 6400. You make the choice, personally Id save some cash and get a 6400.

the e6400 has a 2MB cache though, and the e6600 has a 4MB one. (The e6300 and e6400 are Allendales, while the others are Conroes) It would be pointless to get an e6400 anyway, because an e6300 can be clocked the same.

the e6300s and the e6400s are conroes with half their cache disabled.

the e4000 series has the allendales

and it's not pointless as you can onverclock the 6400 as well, and the e6300 would require a very expensive motherboard to reach e6400 levels due to the low multipliuer.

also the e6400 is the highest binned of the two which shoudl greatly improve the chance of it OCing well.
