    hey guys, i use sygate for my firewall, and it has picked up 2 port attacks in the past 4 hours, from the same ip, what can i do? to either stop him/her from doing it, or get revenge?

    and what does a port attack actully do?

    are you sure its not your IP? when my norton still had real time protection it got a lot of port attack and when i looked at the ip that was 'attacking' me it was my ip.

    Yeh like PhanE said it could be a virus on ur comp attacking urself, but really you shouldn't get revenge lol, just stop him/her/it.

    Use http://www.arin.net/whois/ you can at least see who owns the IP address. I personally wouldn't worry to much about it. Your firewall is doing it's job.
