    Hi.

My computer, just recently, started becoming really slow. I System Restored a few days back, because I thought the problem might be with a program I've recently installed. It seemed to do the trick, that is, for a few hours.

I finally decided to see how my computer reacted during simple tasks such as right clicking, moving a window around, clicking on a file.. just small stuff.

    I came up with this:

Does that look a bit weird to anyone else?

If someone could post a screenshot of theirs, (in the same general idea of mine) I'd appreciate it.

    Oh dear. :(

What the hell is happening?!

Your having memory spikes, take a picture of your processes ordered by CPU Usage, its like SVCHost.exe spikes, disable automatic windows updates and update them manually and it should solve the issue.

ohh. heh I'm an idiot, didn't look close enough, my bad

regardless, this is ultimately derived from not having enough virtual memory allocated.

the reason you don't have enough is because you're using it all
the fact that your system is using a lot fo virtual memory is indicative of the fact that your system needs more memory.

ideally, the best way to fix this is to get more RAM.
antoher way, which is much less effective but works is to allocate mroe virtual memory.

right click my computer>properties>advanced>performance -properties>advanced>virtual memory - change

then set it for the a bit more(on manual) probably doing 256-2048 would do it.

The Initial Size is 768mb and the Maximum Size is 1536mb. I don't want to mess anything up, so, can you tell me which numbers I should put in each box?

Also, is it possible that some of my hardware has heat damage? It's been extremely hot in the room with my computer and I can't be on it very long because it sounds like it's about to blow up.

My other computer, suffered from heat damage because of insufficient cooling, and it heated up way to fast. Try letting it cool down, then turn it back on, if it goes fast, and after a few hours starts to slow down, then your hardware is heating up/ failing. Try to make your PC OpenFaced if its a heating problem..

just make the max size bigger

you can't really mess anything up.

    try max size 2048mb

    again you need more RAM.
