My problemo: Every time I run Itunes now or use any music player the cpu usage jumps from w/e it is to 100%...and fluxuates from there to 96% around that area until it finally calms down...but it will continue to fluxuate if i change songs or connect my Ipod....and put songs from Itunes to my ipod...it kills the sound of the music with this crackling noise... Any one know how to decrease cpu usage in general????
...Close processes you don't need. If you know nothing about processes, search for a list of processes that are essential to system stability.. That way you don't break anything.
What kind of processor do you have? If it's a pentium II, this type of stuff should be expected. but i doubt it is a p2.
If its a Pentium 4 it should be fine.To check processes press: Ctrl + Alt + Delete. You should see tabs like this: Applications, Processes, Performance, etc. Check the Application tab to check if anything that shouldn't be running, isn't running and to check the Processes, click the Processes tab.
I know that...but how do I differentiate between what should and should not be running and if something shouldn't be running why did it start in the first place????? is there a way I can keep it from turning on????
