    Question,

    I have a decent pc

    Q6600
    3Gigs memory
    8800GS
Decent amount of gigs free on the hdd

my cpu use never rises above the 15%
and i'm not using more than 1 gig of the 3 rams that are in.

Yet still my computer is running slow as hell.. i cant really handle several things at once, the startup after pressing the profile takes ages and there aint alot of ---- on my pc..

I've run Tuneup utilities 2009 and its optimized, im running bitdefender as firewall which comes out as best on several sites as antivirus.. so i dont expect virusses on my pc.

    any suggestions..?

    oh i'm running xp SP3

Remove Window Blinds and all styling that you've done on your desktop, I'm pretty sure its the styling problem.

Who knows? It might just be them, try disabling/uninstalling them for a while.

Well my totally biased opinion that will piss just about everybody off here is that it is running slow because you are using Intel. The more likely reason could be (If your lucky)

    1. Your virus scanner is always scanning your computer, while this is not a bad thing in some cases it can really slow down a computer, try disabling for a while.
    2. As mentioned above your desktop stylization could be slowing it down, but I don't think that would be the problem on a 2.4ghz quad core and over 3 gigs of ram (cough) even if it is intel and you have way to much money to spend on over-priced processors (cough)
    3. How much space is left on your hard drive? If it is less than 25% that is your problem, you should really not go below 25% available space.

Service Pack 3 could be your problem me and people I know upgraded to it and caused all kinds of problems from slowing down comps to giving me blue screen so if you just recently upgraded from one look into repairing your OS with your CD and see if that fixes it.

The only things I can see that could cause a lengthy startup is the shell addons and VMware shared components.

You really seem to be taking care of your PC. Only thing I found weird was "C:\avedesk\Kopie van AveDesk.exe"

I guess its in another language, do you know what that is?

I really don't see nothing wrong.
