Hey guys, my current computer is a SONY VAIO w/ 15 gigs, and1 28 MBs,, of RAM and a large monitor lol. Its about 4 years old, has no internal fans, and cost me 2,000 dollars give or take a few, when i first bought it.. I'm looking for a new computer, stock or building my own, and wanted to spend no more then $900 dollars, and here's the few things I'd need for sure: - Alot of ram, maybe 512 or 1,000. I don't need much space, I was told most computers come with at least 50, and that'd last me a long time, even with all my 3d modeling stuff- since i keep backups of everything on CD - Large monitor, lol...i'm blind. Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks, BFTP
I recommend to build your own computer a lot more cheaper by the way are you going to play game on that computer or..need more details and what do you mean here: (50???) I don't need much space, I was told most computers come with at least 50
Probally ment 50 gigs. Most computers from companies like sony, compaq, dell, and hp come with 120(from what I've seen). PCWORLD is a good place to look for the top PCs ( they make a list every month)
i wouldnt buy one i say the best way to go is to build your own not that hard and u get what u want... http://www.tigerdirect.com/
Yes, i'll be wanting to play w/ alot of programs & wanting to play video games. I was told most computers come with 50 gigs, looks like its 120 gigs=P I don't care either way, custom or pre-built, whatever you guys think. BFTP
just get an amd64 Processor and a nice Motherboard and youll be set...just got done building one myself for around 500 from http://www.tigerdirect.com/ Amd 3400+ Processor Asus Motherboard 1024 mb of ram 1 GeForce 250MB DDR / AGP 16X Video Card 1 cool looking new Case used the Monitor 19" and old 80 gig hard drive had from last computer need any help feel pm me or add me to your msn and we still need to play that poker game for some creds lol
if your looking to build ill set somthin up for you, case, proccessor, sound card, everything you need to build a comp, itll be a very good setup
I would definatley say build your own. You get more for your money that way. Only bad thing is no support if you happen to break something, but I havent had any issues with mine. I would go with an AMD-CPU, at least a Gig of RAM, and an ASUS MoBo. The rest is up to you. I have a 128MB video card and it runs most things just fine. And if you have never built a computer, dont worry,it isnt hard, just follow the MoBo manual and it will go smooth.
Always build your own computer. Not only is it cheaper in the long run, but if something goes wrong, its easier to fix and or replace components in it, especially since you know whats inside of it.
If its gona be a mediabox thing (music, movies, ps, cad etc) then stick with intel.. You'll be able to pick up these parts cheaply. CPU- Intel 'prescott' 3.2GHZ Socket 478 Mobo- Asus p4p800E Deluxe 478 RAM- 2x512MB of OCZ Platnum Rev2. GFX- If for games- eVGA 6600GT AGP. If it isnt a gaming computer then just get a Radeon 9200 (will save a lot of money) HD- Western Digital 120gB Caviar. 8mb cache 7200RPM Thats about all youll need.. Ask anyone who knows much about computers and they'll tell you thats about the best you can do on a budget these days. Any Questions, PM me
dont listen to him^ intel=not so good. Get this - Processor: Amd 3500+ Processor (939 Pin) Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Mobo RAM: 1 Gb Corsair RAM Graphics Card: 128 Mb 6800 GT - PCI Express version Case: Thermaltake Case - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6783014505&rd=1 ^if you cant afford that get a cheap case but have at least 400 Watt PSU. Hard Drive: Western Digital 120gB Caviar. 8mb cache 7200RPM
ive got three 120gb harddrives, 2 internal, 1 external, dvd dual layer burner, and also an external cdrom, ummm 512mb ram, geforce 6200, amd sempron, and i run bf2 at high settings and get no lag.
oh damn i paid 800 Euros (i'd say 1100$) for mine and its not even that good (that was about 3 months ago). tho i do have 120 gigs i think (+ pentium4, no amd).
