    I need help setting up my laptop to my dsl that i have....please help me...a walk through would be much appreicated

    See that ethernet port on the back of your laptop? Plug the ethernet cable thats in your computer into the port =)

    You need a wireless router, I suggest a linksys. You will also need a matching wireless card, or USB adapter (FROM THE SAME COMPANY!).

    Give us the make & model of your laptop or wireless card if it's not built in. Also if you are running a wireless router give us the make and model to start.

    You can also purchase a usb wireless connection.

    it does not have to from the same company, just as long it is the same frequency, lik 'B' or 'G'

    Yeah, i use an SMC card and linksys router and they work fine together.

    yeppers, I even have a Netgear router and a generic (cant rember compny) Wireless PCI card and it works great.

    I like having the same company, I dunno, makes me feel safer, as in I'm not gonna have problems.

    True, but when your looking for the cheapest price, its not always from the same company.

    most companies have a wireless bundle you can buy.

    And when your going to use wireless, don't forget to turn on WEP encryption so that no one else can use your network and hog the bandwith. By the way I would stick with a Linksys or Cisco router. Dlink and Netgear routers have issues when you try to configure settings. Get a 2.4Ghz wireless router with speedboost from Linksys.
