I have $60 I need to spend by the end of May (Pre-paid gift card). Since I don't really have something I "really" want I figured I could finally get myself a nice 1/4 to 1/8 converter and a Nikon wireless remote which burns half of it. I've had my UE Super.fi 3's for about 8 months and love them minus the fact that they can be awkward if I want to lay my head against anything. I also have a pair of Sennheiser HD555's I got myself for Christmas which I also really enjoy (this is what the converter is for). I've grown more accustomed to the neutral (everything is clear, no overpowering bass) sound of my Super.fi 3's... The HD555's are mainly for when I want to be more engulfed in my music or movie. I have my eye on three items (each being quite different, too... Also, looking for under the $100 cap): 1st: I've been looking for a closed headphone I could use for isolation and I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Sennheiser HD280's. I figured I'd go with them since they seem to have big earcups (give me a magical feather and I'll fly away) my other choices were the Sony MDR-7506 or the Audio Technica ATH-700 closed. 2nd: I'd like to have a pair of IEMs I can easily rest in, in other words be nicely flush to my head. If I didn't get the Super.fi 3s I would have ended up with the Etymotic Research er6i's, which I still have my eye for something under $100. (I've read mixed reviews on the Shure SE110s, which would be nice since they are currently $46 on Amazon) 3rd: I wanted something that has a reputation for good sound so that when I wanted to I can get the best I can out of my music. I've continuously read how amazing Grado headphones are, so I was thinking the SR60s (If I happened upon $1000 I'd like the GS1000)... Plus I love how they look. Any advice would be appreciated. P.S. I mainly listen to classical, ambient, and black metal. ---------------- Now playing on Winamp: Boris - Part III via FoxyTunes
http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards-compu...s-headsets.html skim through there. from what I see, you're more of an audiophile than I. Seemingly gamer based, but still. I don't know.
I have the Sennheiser HD 515s, and I really like them. They're really comfy, and they sound great in game or just listening to music.
Can't really help you... but I'll throw what I'm sort of doing: I could care less about my office computer's audio, but for my recording playback I'm using M-Audio monitors, which are OKAY.
If you dont care about the sound quality ( as in your not a audiophile ) skullcandy in ear headphones are pretty good. I bought my pair for 10 bucks and they sound as good if not better than a pair that would cost 30 bucks. But there is a major difference between them and the more expensive ones (50-100)
Skulls are terrible quality. Simple comparison If you want good quality get Senn's, Denon's, AT's or if your willing to shell out quite a bit for the quality Shure's or a pair of Bose IEMs If you want to look good for the hipster kids on the bus or in class get Skull candies I personally have a pair of CX500s, you do need to do a 36 hour burn in, which you will with any decent quality buds, but after that they're perfect, nice deep bass and crisp tones.
http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_o...hones/index.jsp Bit more expensive (€99) but they're the best I've ever had. Never irritates and great sound.
BOSE BEST OFF SPENT ELSEWHERE Bose has some very good products, they just charge more than they're worth for them.
Bose PX-100 http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PX-100-Co...s/dp/B000089GN3 By far the best headphones ever. I've bought like 10 foam ear pieces because I've used them so much.
