It's been out for awhile, and yes I noticed that it had x86 parts. I just couldn't find the right name for it, and yes I do plan on using it for money, I mean my parents want to get me a desktop, for college. Career graphics designer, I have a few months but, I want a mac, and thought I'd post about it.

I've looked at a few different brands, and sorry I thought that it was new, guess not.

    macs are desktops.

and since ti uses x86 parts you can install almost an operating system which runs on x86.

    that means:
    most current Microsoft products
    most current linux distributions
    and more

also, college is not the same as making money, in college you can get by with 'slightly' slower since no money is involved and few professors expect every student to have a top tiered system(though they very well might expect an up-to-date system), heck I've had teachers who didn't even own computers themselves. Don't spend the extra $XXX for a 8% increase in external clock speed(aka getting the dual 3.0GHz Xeons over the dual 2.66GHz Xeon) as chances are you'll spend a majority of your time with the processors in idle and the time which they are peaked might represent a difference of seconds a day.
