Hardcore and Metalcore can be summarized in a simple statement...

If I wanted to hear some pre-pubescant child scream at the top of his lungs, I would go molest a child.

I have no idea the names of the genres of bands I listen to (Pretty much will listen to any genre providing I like the song) but yeah Metallica sucks. Well their version of the Imperial March is win but they don't sing in it.

Good thing all the nu-metal I listen to has no one that screams like a girl in it, you know, like a good 50-75% of all popularized hardcore and metalcore bands.

    <3 Metal, **** metalcore / hardcore.

Yeah but all nu-metal bands are either one of 3 things:

1> Non-talent ------s who want to be Mr. Bungle.
2> Non-talent ------s who want to be Faith No More/Primus
3> Non-talent ------s who want to be Rage Against the Boring Machine

Of course Metalcore's filled with just non-talent ------s period without any need for specification, and the only exceptions to it is very few bands that only come out as decent/good once or twice in their entire career (and normally in the mathcore section of the genre), but nu-metal doesn't even have that gleam of decency.

Oh, and uh, this brings out an interesting question:
    - If you had a gun in your head, and you had to listen to a ------ing Slipknot album, or a ------ing Bring Me the Horizon album to save your life, would make the choice or take the bullet?

    I take the bullet, kthnx.

I'm not a fan of primus, rage or bungle... so no lol

I love instrumentals of 'core', but I am a lyics and vocalists kind of guy, can't stand 'core' vocalists.

When he speaks of 'nu-metal' hes speaking of bands that are classified as multiple other genres but they all have nu-metal in common on last.fm... bands like... Adema for instance because I am too lazy to go through my music library of nearly 130gb to find more.

Almost every band I listen to is classified as rock or hard rock, they just also happen to have the nu-metal tag on it on last.fm, like 3/4 of the 'core', metal styles, rock, alternative, industrial, etc. also share.

I'm much more of a Pantera, Disturbed, Clutch, Filter, Ill Nino, Alice in Chains, Dope, Soil, Drowning Pool, Earshot, Fear Factory, 10 Years, APC, Tool, etc. kind of guy.

I'm an instrumental kind of person. ------ vocals, they're useless and can be dealt away with. All the bands you mentioned give me nausea, close, but not close enough to the pure vomit that Bring Me the Horizon allowed to come out of my body.

I guess when you look at it from different perspectives (like vocalists and instrumentals), I can 100% see why you'd prefer that. Since I'm more solely musical...they both fail lololololol.

But yeah. I see where you're coming from. <3

Edit - <3s in a Metal thread, TOTALLY FREAKIN' METAL RAWR.

Yes, yes, yes, and more yes.
KWD is now one of my fav bands tbh.
But, with that list I'd have to throw in some United Nations, Born of Osiris, and My Hero is Me.
Maybe a little Sky Eats Airplane but not much.

DEP, ID, GT, and Between the Buried and Me are like, the best from the list, IMO. I hate Glassjaw. XD I'd rather listen to Fugazi. <3333
