You just quoted the lead singer of The Used. Someone who dropped out of school as soon as he could.

So yeah, he really knows his stuff.

Also, if I just go back and mention the quote again, to paraphrase what he said: "screamo is a genre. Some bands that some people call screamo sometimes prefer to be called post-hardcore."

Some people call mcr emo. Mcr don't want to be called emo because they're not. Mcr still get called emo.

Screamo is a form of hardcore punk which is much more abrasive than average hardcore. Lyrics are screamed in a rough matter, sometimes mixed with spoken word. The songs are fast, raw, and full of energy, sometimes bands take a more progressive approach to the music by introducing melodic interludes with clean and soft vocals. For the most part the recordings of the songs are low quality, giving the music a unique feel. Bands that play a more aggressive style of Screamo are usually considered powerviolence or grindcore (usually due to thrash and death metal influences).

Post-Hardcore is a sub genre of hardcore punk. Bands in this genre incorporate elements not usually found in hardcore, hence the "post" part of the name. Bands usually play a variety of genres mixed in with the hardcore influence. They are merely influenced by hardcore, whether it be the drumming or the riffs. Post-hardcore bands usually mix singing with screaming. The screaming here is "cleaner", it's less rough than screaming in Screamo, so it's usually easier to understand.

Bands like Drive Like Jehu and later albums by Fugazi were pivotal in developing the post-hardcore genre. Post-hardcore bands nowadays are much more developed, and much more progressive borrowing influences from many genres, which is why they sound so different.

People like you, who follow the scene, are ignorant and decided to label bands like My Chemical Romance, who are merely alternative rock, emo and also label bands like Underoath screamo.. It's all just a bunch of ignorant kids who have no idea what they're talking about.

    REAL Screamo bands.

God I love you, man. I would've said the exact same thing with the exact same list. xD I love Screamo, to be honest. Oh, and I would have added Jerome's Dream and Swing Kids, but yeah.

Orchid's Chaos is Me might be one of the most intense albums EVER.

And Disillusion, resorting to pathetic insult doesn't make you any less of an idiot, kthnx. <3

I SEE WHAT YOU'RE DOING THERE MR MAGGOT.

YOU ARE CLEVERLY AVOIDING HIS WELL THOUGHT OUT ARGUMENT AND RESPONDING WITH A NOT-TOO-WITTY REMARK ABOUT HIS PERSONAL LIFE.

YOU ARE THE MASTER ARGUER, YOU MUST TEACH ME YOUR SKILLS FOR THEY ARE ALWAYS SUPRISING AND UNEXPECTED.
