The Crimson Flame will be hosting an ODST Firefight Tournament beginning Oct 11th.

The tournament will follow a standard ladder where teams of two are pitted against one another to maximize their scores in ODST Firefight. Each round will last a week, during which time the teams have as many tries as necessary to get the highest score they can on their matches map/difficulty. At the end of the week, the winners will be determined and the next rounds specifics will be unveiled.

    Prizes:

Prizes will be decided at the end of registration based on the number of participants, more participants = bigger better prizes.

Example of prize set: (prizes are described as what a single individual of the team would receive, so the team prize is 2x whatever is listed)

    1st place: Modern Warfare 2 Standard Edition + 1600MS
    2nd place: 3200MS
    3rd place: 1600MS

    Registration:

To register to compete send an email to [email protected] by Oct 10th including the following:

I love that you are giving away MW2 in a Halo tournament. I guess after playing a terrible game you have to play an amazing game.

I will participate though. Why can I not just register here?

i'm having the registration through email since this tournament is posted on multiple sites, and its easier to maintain a proper list of competitors when the list is split all over the place.

and MW2 is only a potential prize due to it being another triple-a title

I know this is offtopic, but should I buy this game? If I buy it, I'll participate for sure.

I would recommend watching some gameplay videos and perhaps the IGN video review for it first. See how your thoughts are after that.

I am what you could call a fan of Halo. I do not really like playing online as it is usually laggy and glitchy and really retracts from the gameplay. I also do not like having to unloading two or so clips into a guy to take him down while bouncing around in 1/9 earth gravity or whatever it is. That aside I love the Halo campaign, the music and the general fun of it. And I do like playing the game offline with friends, or even online on Team Swat or something similar, but I do prefer more realistic shooters like Call of Duty over it. As for ODST I do not believe the game is worth your money, especially if you already own Halo 3. It is a very short campaign which is pretty fun but will take you one night to complete. The firefight setting is pretty fun though the fact that you can only invite your friends is stupid, there is no matchmaking. Basically the only good things about ODST, in my opinion, are the achievements I earned easily from it and the prerelease of the last three mythic maps for Halo 3 it offered.
