SITE: http://www.guildwars2.com/en/ GALLERY: http://kotaku.com/5341781/guild-wars-2-art...lanche/gallery/ I've been waiting for this game for like 2 years now. Anyone else excited? <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BamRCsZOBmU"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BamRCsZOBmU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I liked the expansions, as they added more storyline which was a major driving force behind the campaign. Admittedly I never stuck around to play anything but the original and Factions, but those two were good fun.
Factions was rather dull in comparison to the others IMO, so you didn't even get to see the best part. I have been getting sick of World of Casualcraft as of late and will likely be quitting the game when the next expansion is released, and have high hopes for both Aion and Guild Wars 2. Really the game which has the best end game (and the most challenging gameplay) will be the one that wins it out for me.
Yea dude Eye of the north has to be the most amazing expansion. Aion is also gonna super sick. Guild Wars 2 is gonna be amazing!!! Ive been waiting for like over a year.
I was beta testing Aion, and I am honestly not impressed with what I have seen. The game is *very* PvP oriented, and from what I have heard from my US friends who play on CN live servers the L50 end game in terms of PvE is very poor. I am a raiding fan, PvP has never really been my deal (not that I'm not good at it, I'm very good, I just like the coordination and group things that PvE / raids bring to the table). Unless Aion or GW2 shapes up to have some very nice end game PvE I will likely find my home elsewhere. The only reason WoW has kept my interest this expansion at all is because I finally managed to pull ahead to being one of the better players in the US (mainly being able to prove it, as before previous guilds were holding me back, etc.) and have had the chance to play with basically all the top Horde guilds in the US and thus I was able to do the whole coordination and communication thing that I crave so much in MMOs that I don't feel PvP can bring.
Aaages ago when I was still playing GW1, I heard something about there not being a level cap in GW2, meaning the more you play the stronger you get, meaning it would be less gear based and more exp based. Of course, that was just pre-production speculation, but I think the idea has merits.
That would be cool except people who have played 1000 hours over a year or two would own anyone just starting.
Because in WoW it's always possible, as I've done several times when rejoining after a long period, to catch up again. Guild Wars bored the lift out of me, end-game was bad, graphics were bad, the whole "instanced world" system was bad. Hopefully 2 will be an improvement. Will be trying Aion first though. PS : Dem, lies, you used to be -all- about the PVP because I was -all- about the PVE and you hated on me for it.
I didn't even finish playing GW1, it's a really cool game and I love it. But sometimes I play it allot and sometimes like now.. I don't. Don't feel like playing it. GW2 might be something I'll play again. sidenote: waiting 2 years for a game is... pretty stupid.
Useless to be into PvE when we started, by the time we hit 60 people were in the latter parts of Naxx, as shown it was impossible to catch up in time. When TBC hit I joined guilds to see the content through, when Wrath hit I joined high end guilds to be the guy setting all the death knight dps records in the US.
You nerds need a life. Especially you, Dem. Your constant talk of the ridiculous hours you put into WoW seem to contradict the rumours of sex and socializing you like to peddle.
