    Yeah its DDR then.

    I would suggest to go at least 1.5G of ram..

    and is there a specific price range for ur video card??

    btw what does the word say exactly under the AGP slot? (I think its a 8x agp anyways)

    Yeah, I was thinking between 1.5 and 2Gb of RAM. When I get new RAM do you just take the old ram out and put the new sticks in and your ready to go?

    Probably between 100-215$ or so. I might be able to get one a little bit more, but would have to talk to the parents.

    AGP wording is above the black slot and I don't see any other words/numbers around it.

    I'm pretty sure its AGP 8x.

    For the ram part...thats correct.

    AGP cards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....&SubCategory=48

    personally i think most of them suck..T.T
    PCI-E ftw.

    *Remember!!! Whenever working inside a comp, be sure to ground yourself!! This can be done by touching the outside of the case. If you leave the work area make sure to ground yourself again.

    I hope I have helped in some way (if so rep me, u dun have to) lmao and have fun when CnC3 comes out!

    you can keep your old ram, there is little reason to remove it.

    as for a card, what's your budget?

    7950s go for like 200$

    why not get an x1950XT instead, in most games, it outperforms the 7950GT.

    The ram that ur looking at is a dual channel ram. Your motherboard will have to support dual channel for those ram to work.

    BFG makes pretty good cards. I'd say thats not that bad of a card, but its a bit slower in comparison to my 6600GT OC. The most recent games I played with this was BF2142 runned on medium/low settings, but very soon my card will be useless for future games.

    Isn't there a G80 card or some DX10 card coming for AGP in the near future? You could wait for that.

    nvidia FTW? more like "nVidia's marketing, WTF?" WOW... have fun wasting your cash, it's fanboyism like that which is what makes those multibilliondollar corperations have billions(I'm not necessarily an AMD/ATi fan either, my last three cards have all had nvidia GPUs)
    It's the moment you realize that companies like nVidia and ATi are run by capitalist whores that you loose loyalty, AND FAST. I value my money.

    if you want better image quality, and better performance, go with the radeon x1900XT, in a majority of scenarios, it's the better performer and it overclocks better too.

    given that you play BF2, i'd advise you go the ATi route regardless, BF2 runs better on Ati's silicone(excluding nvidia's next gen 8800s but those are expensive)

    Also, BFG for the most part does not make cards, most graphics card manufacturers use the reference design and they source them to another company or receive them form another. When looking for a company to buy from, just look into the warranty and return policies, also if applicable, compare the coolers if there is deviation.
    ===========

    One more thing,
    There is no such thing as dual channel RAM. Ram is sold in kits guaranteed to run in dual channel, but you can split up the RAM and use each stick seperately.

    ========
    and there is a G80 based card coming in the future, but I have virtually no knowlege on it.

    ========
    ax1650XT or a 7600GT would work well

    I want to recommend the x1650XT over the 7600GT, but if DOOMIII in very high res is your thing, then that wouldn't be the case so much.

    and this is the most powerful AGp card, about twice as powerful as that 6800

    You can't get a 7600GT on AGP only GS the highest AGP card is a 7800GS

    A 7600GS or and an x800GTO are good bets

    I have a 7600GS and it plays current games pretty well, I can play F.E.A.R and Half Life 2 at 1400x900 (full settings on half life 2, and get 45-100 fps) Battlefield 2142 at medium settings
