Hey I got 200 bucks for a video card, i want the latest quality Radeon Card to fit in my 64bit pc, anyone got any good or comments about good radeon video Cards
Do you have AGP or PCI-E? If you have PCI-E ... I suggest getting this ... it isn't the best ... but not far from the top of the line and way better than anything under 200 dollars from ATI. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814161164 I paid over $300 for mine in AGP version. It has a way better than stock heatsink already included as well. I have a different version of this card (ASUS x850xt PE) in AGP and can run any game on max settings. This same card for AGP is like over $300 ... so find out which you have.
umm 200 exactly doesn't offer you an optimum amount for such a purchase. the cards here are the bang for $ cards out right now, note how not all fo them are radeons... actually most aren't ultra low end: radeon 9250 or GeForce 5500(more or less tied) low-end GeForce 6500 or radeon 9550 perhaps... not entirely sure can't tell you haven't looked into this much mid-low end: X800GTO... love how prices came down... great card still http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRatingRe...N82E16814102691 6600GT (not as good for the $ as x8000GTO) mid end Geforce 7600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150140 x850 mid-high end x1800XT GeForce 7900GT ultra-high end... you're being ripped off don't bother... toss two mid-high end cards in sli/crossfire for better results.. if you have an AGP slot though you're pretty much f'ed everything has migrated to PCI-e, best bang/$ AGP cards are... radeon 9550, more expensive x800GTO, 6800GS, 7800GS
If he does have PCI-E though ... that x850xt for $170 is better than a 7600 GT ... I'd say. The 7600 GT does have room for SLI though and Pixel Shader 3.0 ... which gives it an advantage. But the x850xt has 4 more pipelines and is double the bits of a 7600 GT. Merged Post: If you are willing to spend a little bit more money ... you can get this x1800 XT for $259 after rebate. Holy crap ... those were over almost double of that just a few months ago. This is a very nice card. 256mb version: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102698 512mb version: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102697
having an additional amount of vram won't make a huge diference past 256megs, especially when you consider that it's core didn't increase clock speed all too much, as it is the 256 meg version maxes out pretty much anything and the 256 megs of additional vram won't eactly future proof the card... i mean the 256meg 6200 was obsolete the day it came out as compared to its big brother the 6600 I will say though the x850 should have been put on my list after looking at it and the like... definately not at the 280 you paid for one though. Though if an x800 GTO has pipelines which unlock(most do) its still a better value.
I was shocked on how cheap the x1800 xt and the x850xt were. The x1800 xl is more than the x1800 xt ... how does that make sense? lol
