I've seen this on clantemplates.com, someone starts off with like an unfinished template or sig and gives a link to the psd and then the next person adds another bit to it (doesn't finish it off). After like 10 people do it there's a finished piece. They also have them for different skill ratings so a low skilled designer doesn't go and add to a pro piece.
Just an idea, dunno what ya'll think.

Would it be called a collaboration?

Happens already, just make a thread and wait for takers.

No, HydrogeN, it is alot more in-depth. It is literally a Graphic-Chain. Someone makes background, someone else makes the basic layout, another person adds their style to it, etc. And all of this gets posted in the same thread. This is was one of the most successfull/unique/fun things I have ever been a part of in a graphics forum. It is VERY interesting, and not only do you learn the techniques from the psd that is tossed arround (or you can just toss arround a png, and make it a challenge for someone to add something onto the template, forum skin, etc). In basic analysis, this was/and would be impossible to accomplish just my creating a thread.. Maybe a sub-section in Graphics Discussion or something, see how it goes, if it doesnt work out, then no biggie.

thats it but ill say a little more just to make sure its understood. its just like a rate the sig above you kinda thing. except you take a psd and you do something to it. the whole point is to get everyone involved in something.

he wants a section in the forums dedicated to the graphics chain.

Didn't we have one done in the Website Templates forum a few months ago? It was a big hit but I never got to see the finished template.

You could make a thread in the Website Templates forum for it. There's really no need to make a sub-forum when a lot will be working on just one thing.

Yes Fuse, we did, after a while it slowly died.

It was no longer a hit.
