Virus scan + turn off the internet for a while. Just to make sure.

It depends. Restart your computer, then try doing MSN and whatever was affected again...

Maybe you just unplugged 'em unknowingly, or 'tis a virus/trojan? Just check again, hopefully it passed.

if you have norton, it probably won't find it. but for AVG or Avast, run it in safe mode.

in the end, of you cant get rid of it, backup and reformat

    Get a virus scanner.

    Run a virus scanner.

    Post the results.

It is quite possible that the files are hidden somewhere else and when your trying to delete them the virus automatically copies them to your desktop again.

If you need a scanner, I believe AVG is free but I can't remember. Also if you download Google Desktop you get a trial of Notran Anti-virus.

black, Norton suks you know what, why even try??

and safe mode is the better way to get rid of viruses that linger in system files, thus cant be removed

I had this, but AIM Based. The virus is called, "Look at Me".

Download AVG & Spybot Search & Destroy.

That should take care of it.

Be sure to update them both before you do.

Norton does not suck, the people who use it and can't be assed to keep it updated give it a bad reputation.
